Eleanor spent the next few days in the common room with the others, making sure the only time she left the sofa was for dinner in the hall.
The days had blurred into one and without realising it was now New Year's Eve, she and some of the Slytherins that remained during Christmas had decided to have a small gathering round the fireplace with drinks to celebrate.
Eleanor pulled on her fluffy black slippers and tied her hair up into a messy bun as she waited for Pansy to come out of the bathroom, the girl had been in there for the last fifteen minutes doing Merlin knows what.
The dorm door burst open, swinging against the wall with a clang, as Daphne runs in holding a small package in her hands. "They finally came!" She said waving the package in the air like a lunatic.
"What came?" Eleanor responded.
"I had my parents make copies of the photos of us from the Yule ball for the memories, this ones yours." She handed Eleanor a photo in thick silver frame.
It had the seven of them all bunched together laughing at the camera as they stood underneath the ice sculpture. Eleanor smiled at the moving photo, they all looked so happy together. She shoved a load of books to the ground making room on top of her bedside draws to place it down next to her wand.
"Pansy this is yours." Daphne said, rather excitingly handing her one as she left the bathroom.
"Thank you, cough my boobs really did look good in that dress." She boast, bringing the frame closer so she could get a better look.
Eleanor chucked as she got off her bed and pulled the door open. "We should get moving, everyone's already up there and I want a drink."
Eleanor grabbed a cushion of an adjacent sofa and placed it on the floor by the coffee table, she leaned her back against the sofa that Blaise, Terrence, Daphne and Draco sat on. On the sofa facing the fire sat Theo, Cassius Warrington, Crabbe and Millicent Bulstrode, they were busy pulling drinks out of their bags and passing them to Adrian who sat on another cushion beside the table. On the sofa opposite Eleanor sat Marcus, Pansy, Goyle and Astoria.
Eleanor was starting to get an itching feeling Astoria wasn't so keen on her, as she constantly notice the glancing of Astorias eyes down in her direction. She noticed Astoria mainly focused on the ring placed on her finger almost sucking in a breath once she first caught site.
"So what have we got here?" Cassius said rubbing his hands together.
Adrian flicked through the bottles on the table, "We have Chocolate Liqueur, two bottles of Fire Whiskey, Dragon Barrel Brandy, Gin and what seems to be a home brewed rum in a plastic bottle. I might be giving that one a miss, thank you Flint."
Eleanor picked up one of the bottle of Fire Whiskey pouring three shots into glasses, she placed two in her hand holding them up behind her head.
"Thank you" Blaise cheered taking them out her hands and downing both, as Eleanor shot the one from the table.
As the drinks flowed around the group and everyone had started to become slightly tipsy, Marcus thought it would be a good idea to play truth or dare. Eleanor rolled her eyes, not only did he still wanted to play truth or dare at his age but she was also not going to be the poor sod that gets dared to kiss him.
