*AYANEE'SPOV*
Ever since I've talked to Luke about my problems. I couldn't stop thinking about what he said. He was right, I don't deserve any of this, so the real question here is why? If I don't deserve any of this then why am I still dealing with it? It just doesn't make any sense.
Looking out my window trying to imagine what my life would of been like if my dad was still here. I can't believe he is gone. This isn't fare. "Ayanee? are you ready?" my mother says opening my door.
"Oh gosh, you scared me"
"Sorry, you ready for school?"
"Not really" I mumble grabbing my bag on my bed.
"What was that?"
"Nothing, I'm ready"
I have no idea why my mother was bringing me to school today, ever since she saw me and Luke on our date she has been acting weird. After dropping off my little brother she passes up my school. "Mom? You just passed up my school"
"I know"
"Are you going to go back?" Not that I wanted to go anyway.
"Nope, I figured you needed a break from school"
"Okay... so where exactly are we going?" Why was my mom doing this? is she sick? since when did I get to just skip school?
"you will see" she says turning up the volume to a song on the radio before rolling down the windows. She takes out her sunglasses and puts them on smiling.
Smiling with happiness we start singing along. With the wind blowing through my hair I close my eyes enjoying the moment. I was so confused and curious about what was going to happen and what we were going to be doing but a part of me was glad this was happening maybe my mom will finally change. But I can't keep my hopes up because someone how or some way she always lets me down.
"Mom can you now tell me where we are going?" I ask my mom as she turns down a black tile road in the middle of nowhere.
"We are almost there, don't worry, now relax and enjoy the music"
Ten minutes go by and we finally arrive to our destination. We arrived at a beach. This was the first time I saw this beach; it was beautiful. Getting down I gasp looking at it. "Woow" Was all I could say. I was speechless. The water was a clear blue and the sand was a pretty shade of white. It was perfect.
"Ready?"
"But I don't have any swim clothes"
"I know we aren't here to swim, come with me" My mom says before walking away.
Doing what she says I follow her. I couldn't stop admiring how beautiful the beach was. There were so many people here it was crazy. Everyone was enjoying themselves. "almost there" my mom says over her shoulder.
We pass by a couple of beach stands until we reach a perfect cute ice cream stand. "Here we are"
"This is what you wanted to show me?"
"Yes, take a seat, I'll order us some ice cream"
Listening to my mom, I take a seat at one of the round tables. I looked around while my mom got us ice cream. The place was small but yet very cute and romantic. It would be a perfect spot for a first date. The ice cream stand was small but yet perfect. there was a ice cream cone on top of the building. A cute couple was on the left of me smiling sharing ice cream.
I smiled thinking about Luke. "One chocolate chip cookie dough and a strawberry swirl for me!"
Looking down at my ice cream. My dad popped into my head. This was his favorite ice cream flavor. Depression hit me hard as I sat there staring at it. Before my mom could take a bite she looks over at me. "Ayanee? is something wrong?"
