*MARIE'S POV*
If someone told me about a year ago or before that I was going to get adopted I wouldn't of believed them. I would of told them, they were crazy. How was I supposed to know my life was going to change for the better now. I still can't believe it, I feel like I'm in a dream and I'm about to wake up in any minute. Nothing and I mean nothing has ever gone right in my life. Ever since I met Calum, My life has been changing.
I never thought once that a boy, who I didn't even know before the magazine would be the one to change my life and for that I will be forever grateful and blessed to have him in my life. I will forever thank him. He's my guardian angel.
Looking at my empty bed in my room, I sigh sitting on it one more time. Ever since Ms. Laken told me she was going to adopt me she came up with new rules. There will be no more bullying if bullying does happen the bully will be shipped to a different orphanage; no questions ask. It's slowly becoming a better orphanage, Ms. Laken decided that the old rules will be gone, we still can't leave when we want too but we will have more freedom now. We can go to parks and watch movies on fridays if we are in good behavior.
I'm glad Ms. Gloria is in prison, it was her fault anyway why we couldn't have freedom. She loved seeing us suffer, now it's her who is suffering. We still have to wear our stupid orphanage clothes but it's better than nothing. Ms. Laken said when everything gets settled she will take me shopping for clothes. I can't wait. I will finally go shopping!
Emily and my two new bestfriend's walk into the room smiling at me. They are still on their punishments, I still get to see them for a hour or two each day, after that, they have to clean and cook all day long for us. "Excited?"
"Yes, I will be honest though I will miss this room"
"Well I'm sure, you've always had this room, to bad I'm taking it now" Emily laughs fixing her skirt.
"Yeah, yeah"
"We will miss you Marie, even though we were mean to you, you weren't a bad roommate and I'm thankful for that" One of my roommates tells me sitting on her bed.
I smile at her. "Thanks, you guys weren't so bad either"
"Are you kidding me? We made your life a living hell, I don't blame you if you're excited to leave" The other one says leaning on the iron rails on the end of the bed.
"I mean there were some bad times but I don't regret anything, I mean it" We both smile at each other sitting in silence.
I decided the best thing to do was to forgive them. Laken told me it was best but it will take sometime to trust people, but what Laken doesn't know is I never did trust people, ever since i was born really. That's why I stay to myself, I can only trust myself.
I gathered all my things and waited until Laken came get me. I didn't know what to do with my notebooks so I put it in her safe for safety, I didn't want to get rid of them but I didn't want to have them in my way. Everything they did to me are in those notebooks.
I was helping Emily get settled in my old bed when Laken came get me. "Marie, ready for your new room?" She says glowing playing in my hair. "Yes Ma'am, I can't wait! bye guys"
"Bye!" All three of them say at the same time. I follow Laken into a room I didn't know existed, no one was allowed to go back here. Laken took out a key and unlocked the door which leaded to a staircase that lead to another room. The room looked amazing. It looked like a small apartment. When you walk up the steps you are automatically in the kitchen and infront of that is the living room area. If you turn to your left you can see two more doors, the bathroom and Ms. Lakens room. To your right is my room. Laken showed me around before showing me to my new room.
