it's one of those days where
everything has a memory attached to it
( oh don't tell me you
don't revive old worlds crumbled + left behind in docs
don't eat chocolate and think of laughter, cocoa nibs
maybe an old sink and a green table
don't spot the old backpack and have flashbacks
don't use caps and think of an old piece of paper
and even the smallest things bring pain, pure pain
               don't tell me that doesn't happen )
it's one of those days where i long for another life
one with you engrained in it so deeply

but who could i tell that to?
it's not like you know
+ it's not like they'd care
