when the rain ceases,
and the sky fades to discord-black
and the clouds clear
and when the sky parts
and sprinkles in points of light
among the artwork you post
when the stars catch your eye tonight
i know you're looking at them too
you're across the city,
across the country,
across the world,
and you do not see the stars when i do
but look up at the stars tonight
they smile for you.
i do too.
