They early, dark hours of morning urge my body to go back to sleep, but Levi has other plans. He goes through the challenge of waking me up by dragging my unconscious body off the bed, by my feet, may I add. Now I have a sore spot on the back of my head where it hit the hard ground.

"What the hell!" I scream.

"I have to leave for two days," he informs me, "Try not to get yourself killed while I'm gone."

Levi puts his green cloak on, then rests his hand on the door knob. I stay put on the floor, a heavy feeling stirring in my stomach. I don't think he should go, but my jaw freezes up.

He exits to start his mission without saying another word.

With each step I hear him take, the bad feeling grows bigger and worse.

I get up quickly and follow behind Levi, keeping my distance so he doesn't see me. I watch Levi leave with Erwin Smith. But on the other side of the field, I notice Eren climb into the carriage, Eren turns his head back to the beat up building. His eyes a menacing glare and glowing somewhat green. It gives me chills.

The horse starts galloping into the void of trees.

"What are you doing, (Y/n)?" Mikasa emerges from her room.

"Nothing," I lie, and run past her towards the room where all the ODM gear is kept.

I fumble with the buckles on it, my hands slipping. Finally strapped up, I head out. That expression on Eren's face was not pleasant. And I've seen that before on my father.

Father had looked at me that way only once. Kenny had come over to discuss something private. My dad took Kenny outside to talk, since I was just seven year old and too naive to know what was really going on behind the curtains.

I had peaked my head out from my bedroom. My dad, with one arm around his long time pal, glanced back with that disturbed glint in his eyes. Like he was hiding something.

I sprint into the forest. With me being used to running the hell out of my legs, it's easy for me to gain ground. Now using my maneuver gear to fly through the trees, the carriage enters my sight.

One of the hooks doesn't latch onto a tree strong enough, and I'm sent stumbling towards the ground. I keep my legs moving even when I landed on them wrong. My ankles tingle but I push through.

I need to reach him.

I use the functioning hook to spear through the back of the moving vehicle. I move my finger to squeeze the second trigger. My body is ejected forward. I grab the side of the carriage, grab my sword, and throw myself into the cart.

"Stop the horse, Eren," I demand.

His eyes come in contact with mine.

"Stay a while, (Y/n)," Eren says.

"Dammit," I curse under my breath. I know he won't stop it himself, so I peak my head out of the carriage, grab the reigns, and pull on them.

Eren grabs my leg and yanks me down to the floor. I take in a harsh breath through clenched teeth.

"Where are you going? What are you planning?" I question.

"To Marley."

"The commander refused-"

"He's holding us back from achieving something great," he tells me. "I know you see it, too." Eren's eyes gaze in the direction of my injured legs. "With how hard you landed you won't be able to walk back. You'll have to come with me."

"Like hell." I jerk myself at him and grab ahold of his shirt. I then look at the open door that I came in from.

I manifest all my strength and jump out of the carriage. When I thought I was going to feel pain running in my legs, I only feel the cooling breeze. Opening my eyes, I see Eren gripping my arm.

I should have known.

He's too strong for me to throw. Even if I had thrown him off, he could just transform into a titan and catch up to the horse.

I curse myself for acting without thinking.

"I'm not coming with you. Those Marleyans can drag you to the burning pits." I kick his arm away and fall to the muddy dirt.

I watch the horse carry Eren into the distance.

"You can't always save everyone."

Mother's words ring in my ears.

"You're plan won't go hidden for much longer. Good luck, Eren."
