Heights of Anger

A bright flash of light bolts in my vision. Drops of blood splat against stones. It's like my ears have become deaf, the sound of the clouds moving along the atmosphere being the only thing I can hear.

Morning comes quicker than I had hoped. My head hits against something hard, forcing me awake.

"Don't get a brain injury, brat!" Levi hisses. He glares at me from over his shoulder. I return the look. Levi then tosses me clothes. "Put that on and get your ODM gear situated quickly."

I glance around, noticing I'm in a different setting. I peak out of a nearby window and almost piss my pants.

"So...h-high..." I mumble.

Sasha kneels in front of my maneuver gear, already fixing it up for me and buckling everything around my thighs.

"Hange is sending you down with Levi when we reach Marley. You two will scout out the area then report back to us when it's time to strike." As she explains everything, one of Levi's eyes twitch.

"Don't screw this up, (y/n). I can't help you if you get yourself caught," he says.

I nod, feeling the pressure of anxiety on my lower abdomen. Levi helps me to my feet. My hands lose circulation from his death grip. The pressure becomes heavier.

He's serious. He won't save me.

My legs shake from the height and from Levi's words. He jumps out first, using his gear to make the landing softer. He beckons for me to follow, looking around with an annoyed expression. I then toss myself out, facing the giant aircraft. My fingers automatically find the trigger to hook onto the ground. Levi can sense that I'm hesitating, and breaks my landing by catching me.

He sets me down and we head off into Marley, searching around for any soldiers walking about. We hear an applause off in the distance

Levi motions for me to stop. A group of guards dressed in white feast on foods I've never seen before.

Levi turns to me, making sure my swords are sharp and ODM gear is intact.

"Okay. This is where we split off. If you get into shit, I can't pull you out. Got it?"

I nod.

He disappears into the darkness of the shadows. Meanwhile I freeze up, pondering the next area to investigate.

Then, a thunderous roar echoes from the east of me. A familiar titan face looms over buildings.

Eren, you have something of mine.

I swing through buildings heading in the direction of the monster.

I'm coming to take it back.
