Sorry for all the fluff recently -'>'-

Waking up is pleasant the next morning. A cleaning rag smacks my face multiple times. Followed by an always disappointed voice.

"Get up. You've slept long enough."

Groaning, I glance out the window, noticing the tip of the Sun starting to peak out to say good morning.

"It's six," I whine.

"I let you sleep in for two extra hours, now get up." Levi sets some clothes - that are folded up all fancy of course - on the bed.

"Only if you help me get dressed," I grumble from under the blankets.

"You are capable of doing it yourself," he responds.

When he notices I'm starting to fall asleep again, he shakes me.

"Get up, brat. We've got things to do for your birthday."

"Mmm," I peel my eyes open slightly, "Birthday?"

"Yeah."

I sit up, staring at the clothes intensely. It's not the ordinary military outfit, but rather a casual and cute one. I grab the stack as Levi heads out of the room.

"Don't take too long."

I smile to myself and start undressing. I throw the white shirt on first and then the loose, tan skirt, pulling the suspenders over my shoulders. I comb through my knotted hair to fix any bed head that I had. Then I walk out to meet my fiance.

"Does it fit alright? I didn't know your size when I got it," he tells me.

"It fits perfect for now, until this" - I jab a finger at my stomach - "little one starts growing." I feel a rising, uncomfortable pain. "Speaking of which, can we eat now? I'm gonna collapse if I don't get something in my mouth."

Levi sighs. "You're so dramatic."

"It's not dramatic when you're hungry," I retort.

"We're going to eat now. If you can hold out for a little bit I'd appreciate it."

"I need my food, bitch."

Passing cadets stare with wide eyes that are about to pop out. Hange, who's in charge of those soldiers, gives me a toothy smile. Then she gets the attention back on her, being loud and practically screaming in their ears.

Levi mutters something, but it's too quiet for me to hear.

"Do we have to invite her to our wedding?" he asks.

"Yes. She's special to me. It'd be rude not to."

"She's special, you got that right."

I smack his arm, but his body remains unfazed.

Until a small smile forms on his lips. "Is that the best you can do?"

"Hey! I could beat you easily!" I say.

"Your many times of escaping failed because I would always catch you, even before you would take one step off headquarters."

It's now my turn to mumble under my breath.

.  .  .

I gasp at the vintage, wooden sign saying "A Tiny Tea Shop" hanging above the small door.

"Good thing you're short enough to make it through," I tease as Levi walks in after holding the door for me.

I can see the annoyance in his expression. It only makes me laugh more.

We claim our spot at a table near the back and, immediately, a waitress comes over.

"You two are from the Scout Regiment  right?" she asks, clutching a tray close to her chest.

I nod, matching her level of excitement.

"Your Levi Ackerman, and you're (Y/n) (L/n)!"

"Yes ma'am!" I can feel myself getting hyped up from this woman.

"Oh, wow! I wanted to join the Survey Corp but my mother insisted I do something a little less dangerous," she tells us.

Levi doesn't seem amused, but his eyebrow raises when she starts talking about recent news.

"I hope you guys can get Eren under control."

"Marissa! Are you running those gums of yours again?!" another waitress hollers ar her.

"Ah!" The blonde bows to us, apologizing. "I'm so sorry! Here I am going on about matters that aren't even my business while you two must be starving."

I place my hand on her head.

"It's all good. I would be curious as well."

She erects her back in the speed of light. "What would you both like?"

"Surprise me," I say. "You seem to have good taste so I want you to pick something for me."

Her eyes light up and she smiles wide.

"What do you want, midget?" I turn my head to Levi.

"I'm not a midget!" He clenches his fist. Marissa laughs quietly. "Black tea," he grumbles, leaning back in his chair.

She nods her head then walks away.

"Brat."

"Come on. It's my birthday! I'm having fun!"

"Tch."

For a split second, out of the corner of my eye, I catch him smiling softly at me.

"Happy birthday, (Y/n)."
