Sorry for the really late post and for the short chapter. A lot of stuff happened this past week and I wasn't able to get to writing my story until now. And if you are sensitive to self harm, I wouldn't recommend reading this chapter. I hope y'all like the fanfiction so far! Love y'all❤
Levi's standing in the hallway, in the dark. I sit up rapidly and stare back. I'm wondering if it's my imagination, but the questioning goes away as soon as he comes towards me. His arms wrap around me tightly and I can feel his breath against my bare shoulder.
I gaze at his body, tracing every perfect, detailed muscle on his back.
When I wake up nobody is in the house besides me. The room is quiet and still.
The cold water makes my body prickly with goosebumps.
My stomach seems bigger than usual.
I daze off in the middle of my shower. When the water shuts off on its own that's when I'm brought back to reality.
A sound booms from the front door, sending me rushing to my swords. A buff man gets to them first and takes them for his own needs. I tackle him to the ground.
He grabs a gun out of his pocket and pulls the trigger, but I dodge the bullet just before it's released. I grab the handgun easily. The weight of it is light and fits perfectly in my hand.
Without hesitation, I shoot the man.
Blood pools around his head, dripping down into his sideburns.
I turn my eyes to the gun in my hand and examine it.
"Come on, sis," a little boy urges his sister to keep walking. The tiny blonde is staring at me in horror. Her brother grabs her hand. "That's (Y/n) (L/n). She comes from a lifeline of criminals. Let's go. Before we're next."
The children hurry off.
A smile creeps onto my face, and I laugh. I've forgotten how exciting it was to be feared.
Stop.
I stuff the gun in the waistband of my pants, terrified of what I've done. I grab my ODM gear and strap it around my body.
I promised my dad that I wouldn't follow down my ancestor's path of murder.
"(Y/n)!" Hange exclaims when she sees me standing in front of headquarters.
I shove past her, searching for Levi.
I need to see him one last time.
Levi is sitting by himself, drinking tea like he usually does during breakfast. He spits out his sip and his eyes widen when they connect with mine. He stands up.
The people I trained with watch me with huge smiles.
"You're back!" Connie says.
I pull out the gun and turn the safety off.
Jean's smile turns to concern.
Levi's stricken eyebrows suddenly rise.
I point the gun to my head.
"(Y/n), no!" Levi shouts.
But I pull the trigger.
