Pushing Levi away, my face becomes stricken. He's unfazed by my glare, if anything amusement is in his eyes.
"I'm not pregnant. I've just been eating a lot of unhealthy food," I clarify, holding the blanket over my exposed chest.
"Oh? What did you eat?" Levi has a smug look on his sharp face.
I hesitate. "Cookies."
"What kind of cookies?"
"C-chocolate..."
"I didn't realize the Underground had sweets like those."
"I stole them before I went back home."
"Oh yeah?" He inches closer and I can feel his breath on my cheeks. "Where'd you steal them from?"
I back up in an attempt to escape this man's interrogation, but the bed frame stops me.
"I don't think your stomach can get that big over a couple small treats."
"Well it did so could you kindly drop the conversation?" I say. Levi places a hand on the top of my head.
"Admit it," he lowers his voice, "You're pregnant."
"I admit that the windows are dirty. I can see you're lacking as a captain. The germs have probably contaminated the water already."
He immediately drops his hand and leaps off the bed to grab his cleaning supplies. I take the opportunity of Levi's distracted state to get dressed and leave the room. Letting out a sigh of relief, I hurry to the mess hall to grab something to satisfy my hunger.
Totally focused on finding bread, I don't hear the long-faced loverboy coming up behind me.
"BOO!"
I hit Jean over the head with the potato I found. He laughs so hard I'm surprised he hasn't pissed himself.
"I got you so good!" he exclaims.
"Whatever, Horseface." I go to walk past him but he calls for me.
"One, I'm not a horse, Eren will pay for giving me that stupid nickname. Two, you seemed mad so I thought I'd lighten your mood."
I bite a chunk out of the potato. "Thanks for saving me," I mumble through my chewing. "How's your wound?"
He shrugs. "Stings like a bitch but I can handle it."
Eating the last of my food, a big explosion booms from above. Jean and I hurry outside to find a large bunch of people gathered at the gate that surrounds headquarters. A body lays in front of them, smoked and bloody.
I go back inside and zoom up the stairs to the room that caused the massive panic. Mikasa and Armin are standing together staring in disbelief of what happened. Heavy smoke emanates from the broken wall.
"We're under attack."
