It becomes easier to walk on my legs as time goes on. Luckily the scouts cleared out the area a couple days ago; or so Hange told me. I still keep my eye out for any titans lurking behind the trees. I don't feel like dying just yet.
Once I'm home safe, I sigh of relief and enter the dining hall. I slide myself down to the floor and pull the legs of my pants up to examine the damage that I took.
A few rips are in the pants, but it's nothing compared to what my legs suffered.
Deep cuts from tree branches and covered in bruises.
Levi will definitely notice when he returns.
I get back up on my feet and stumble around to find ointment and bandages.
Instead of them, I find Sasha raiding our food supply.
"What are you doing?"
She jolts up, loaves of bread in her arms and a half-eaten one in her mouth. She quickly swallows the last of it.
"What are you doing? And what happened to your legs?" she backfires.
"It's just little scratches. I went out into the forest to test the new ODM gear."
Sasha breaks a loaf of the baked delight in half, and gives a piece to me.
"Let's go sit."
As we make our way to a table, I watch out for the others to protect Sasha. If they find out she's stealing our food rations, she'll be running to Marley and back.
We munch on our own piece of food.
"What's the real reason you're all messed up?" Sasha asks after some time. She's already through half of the bread portions she was carrying.
"Ah. Heh." Should Sasha really know? I was going to let Hange know about Eren's plans first. Then again maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing if everyone found out.
"I was following Eren. One of my hooks didn't latch on and I fell. And Eren pulling on my ankle didn't help," I explain.
"Where is Eren?" The weird potato girl asks.
"He's going to Marley."
"He's doing what?!"
Jean peaks his head into the room. Us girls struggle to hide the bread rations.
"Hey. Stop goofing around. We have chores to do while Levi is away," he tells Sasha.
"I'll be there in a minute!" She smiles at him. After he leaves we relax our muscles and quickly shove the rest of the food down our stomachs.
"You won't tell anyone what you saw, right?" Sasha stares directly into my eyes.
"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone," I reassure her.
"Thanks, (Y/n)!" She hugs me then gets on with her day of brutal chores.
She might be a food-obsessed girl that likes to starve the rest of us, but at least she's trustworthy.
