"Search everywhere! I want every single human, dead" a voice echoed through the streets, while Ryana hid in terror in an alley, pressing against the wall. She took a quick breath as she tried to calm herself, trying to think of the quickest way out of the city without being found. Suddenly, the village king had called a hunt for the humans, all of them were to be killed, and she didn't know why. They lived in harmony, humans did precision work, and they were skilled builders. Ryana couldn't understand why he wanted to kill them all. She noticed a family running towards her, some humans running desperately for a hiding place.

Unfortunately, there were some giants behind them, and so the girl knew she had to run.

"Got them!" exclaimed a voice behind her. She made the big mistake of turning around, and she noticed some giants take the family in their hands and smile heartily, before crushing them mercilessly in their hands. Ryana watched the scene paralyzed, suddenly she had a lump in her throat that was hard to swallow. They had killed them as if it was nothing. As if they weren't living beings too.

"There is another," said a voice, the giants aimed their gaze on her. She suddenly understood that if she didn't move, she would end up like that family. She backed away quickly, before slipping under a hole in some old wooden beams. She found herself in another alley and ran quickly until, to her misfortune, she found herself at a dead end.

The footsteps came closer and closer as she searched for an escape route.

"You can't go anywhere, we promise a quick death," said a man, as he advanced. Ryana felt tears of terror run down her face as she hid in vain behind a small pile of wood. More footsteps were heard, then, an explosion, startled her.

The human peered out of her hiding place, noting that now another figure had joined the scene. They had a cloak that covered them completely, they suddenly spread their arms and flames appeared on their hands.

"You can decide to go away peacefully, or after being hurt," the voice of a woman said as she walked under the gaze of fear of the other giants. Ryana gasped, she was a wizard! It was practically impossible to have the chance to meet one, as they lived far from society, connected to nature.

When the wizard reached the end of the alley, the giants no longer seemed intimidated and approached her. "You have no right, witch!" one shouted, then they all screamed and attacked her with knives. The figure increased the flames and used them against them, sending the giants out of the alley, and making them reach the street, most likely unconscious or too sore to get up.

Ryana felt her fear return as the giant wizard's eyes rested on her. She jumped and hid again, starting to sob in terror. She heard a few quick footsteps and then the clatter of her robes as the wizard knelt on the ground.

"I know you're scared, but I have to take you away from here," said a panicked voice. The human, frowning at her, raised her gaze a little. Why wasn't she grabbing her? or killing? She was a wizard, she could do anything to kill her. She peered a little, still scared, and met the gentle face of a white-haired, blue-eyed girl. There were some screams and rapid footsteps.

"Ryana, please, trust me," she said, holding out a hand with the palm facing up. The human stood up quickly, looking scared at her hand approaching. When she realized that the wizard knew her name, her eyes widened as she looked at her.
