I waited patiently for the subway doors to close. Perfect, everyone was off and I could have found a warmer place to stay, or that night I would have died of cold. Since I was separated from my family and ended up on this vehicle, I can't get off. But tomorrow morning I'll be able to get back to them.

I had heard from the driver that they would do some checks, so doors open and the subway stopped. I would have waited for the right moment to jump and get off there.

I walked along the corridor of the deserted wagon and desperately searched for something that had fallen to the ground that might be useful.

I saw the doors open, a gust of wind hit me in full and I wrapped my arms around my body, shivering. There was no way of going out at that hour, it would have been suicide. I had been starving for days, but I could survive just another night on there.

The doors closed again and the subway started moving. Suddenly, I heard noises behind me, I didn't have time to hide under the seats that the inner door of the carriage opened, revealing the gigantic figure of a girl.

From my point of view, she was very tall, short brown hair, a uniform, and a shoulder strap held on her side. When her eyes rested on me she stopped her pace immediately. I became paralyzed as well, looking at her from below with wide eyes and holding my breath. She had seen me. I had to escape.

I turned and tried to run away from her, I heard her take a hesitant step forward before the vehicle abruptly braked and I fell forward making a small flight, violently banging my head on the ground. The human also lost her balance and fell not far from me, shaking the floor beneath me. For a moment I saw everything out of focus, feeling the liquid descend from my forehead.

When I managed to bring what was around me into focus, I tried to get up in vain. I looked around, and at that point, I realized I had no escape routes. The human was behind me, she was looking at me surprised and bewildered with two huge, wide blue eyes. I heard the doors open, more footsteps echoing in the subway tunnel.

I felt my heart beating fast, imagining the worst things that could have happened. I put a hand to my head feeling a pang and gritted my teeth. The driver arrived at the door and suddenly I felt the human's hand pull me close to her, covering me with it and pressing me against her shoulder. I let out a small scream in fear of her gesture and closed my eyes waiting for my cruel fate.

"Miss, what are you doing there on the ground?" a distant and severe voice asked. I felt the girl wince a moment before speaking.

"uh... I fell" she admitted and I had to cover my ears because of the volume of her voice. She was so close to me.

"Hurry to get off, it's the last stop," he said in an annoyed tone. The latter wouldn't have moved away until the girl would have gotten up. I felt the hand that covered me tighten slightly, forcing me to curl up on myself in fear. I shivered terrified by the situation and closed my eyes.

Somehow, she positioned herself in front of me and managed to roll me into her palm. I held back a groan of pain and, before I could do anything, the girl placed me in her bag. When I left her palm I found myself stretched out on some fabric, it looked like a shirt folded and placed there. I looked up frightened and with my eyes full of panic. Her blue eyes were sad and almost guilty as she met mines.

"I'm sorry" she whispered before closing the zipper leaving me in the dark. I felt other movements, she must have gotten up, then she started walking. I breathed quickly, adrenaline kept me from passing out. Where was she taking me? What did she want to do with me?

Tears finally rolled down my face as my head throbbed painfully. I curled up on myself, covering myself with my arms and hoping it was all a dream, a terrible nightmare.

I don't know how long the journey took, minutes, hours. All I knew was that when that zipper reopened, I would have a horrible end.

When the human finally stopped I heard the sound of keys, then a door being unlocked. Oh no... did she take me to her house?

She started moving again, before the bag was placed somewhere and all the movement stopped at once. Then, silence. Nothing happened for a long moment, and I wondered if the girl had left and forgot about me. Somehow, I hoped that was the case.

The zipper was opened and the two eyes from before began to look at me again, I curled up as much as possible to defend myself, not even managing to hold back some sobs that shook my body.

"Oh my .. she's crying, shit-" I heard her voice whisper with a tone that seemed panicked. "I swear I didn't want to hurt you, nor kidnap you ... you will think I'm a monster," she continued with the same tone and when I peeked from my arms I saw her hand approaching me.

"No please!" I cried trembling between sobs now completely frightened. Her hand stopped and I saw her face astonished as before.

"I have to get you out of there ... I promise I won't hurt you," she whispered and I continued to cry. Her promise could mean nothing, she would have done what she wanted to me because she could do it.

Suddenly, I felt the fabric move. I jumped up looking around surprised. She wasn't grabbing me directly, but she was taking the shirt where I was laying.

Hold on, I don't want to make you fall," she murmured and I held the fabric in my hands looking around scared. I closed and reopened my eyes when a strong light hit me. I looked around and saw where I was: a huge single bedroom, with a desk, a bookcase, a wardrobe, and a bed.

The shirt was placed on the large bed where there was also the bag and the human sitting on the edge looking at me from above. As soon as I was on the mattress I began to step back down from it looking at her scared.

"Hey, it's okay," She tried to calm me down and I stopped my movements feeling some pain in my head. I brought both hands to it and looked at my trembling fingers. Blood. My blood. I felt my head spin and my vision filled with so many confusing dots. I closed my eyes and fell to the side, fainting.

When I woke up, I felt tired. I was wrapped in a warm sheet and I was lying on something very soft. I wanted to stay in that position forever. I couldn't open my eyes and was barely lucid. I felt something begin to wrap around my head and somehow I opened my eyes.

When I noticed the focused face of the girl, my eyes widened. With one hand she was holding my back and with the other, she was wrapping a bandaid around my head.

"Please don't move, I'm just bandaging your wound," The girl asked softly, giving me a pleading look and then focusing again on her fingers. I remained motionless even paralyzed with fear. She was touching me again.

"That's it..." she murmured, smiling satisfied with her work. I looked at her with red, shiny eyes. "Rest a little longer, you need to relax if you want to prevent the wound from getting worse," she said slowly moving her hands away and letting me lay down on her pillow. She covered me better with the sheet and I laid down, giving her my back.

I heard a sigh of relief and then the click of the light being turned off. I wanted to stay awake and escape at the first opportunity. But the pillow was soft and the sheets were warm. I fell asleep almost immediately.
