Grace got up slowly after a while, and just as slowly she walked to her bedroom. She let the small body that she had in her hands lay down on her pillow and covered Alexa with the sheet. She watched her sleeping as she crouched in front of the bed and tilted her head slightly.
She hated not being able to do anything to fix this situation. She could only keep Alexa safe and reassure her, even though she too was panicking.
She got up after a while when she convinced herself that she should clean up everything in the living room and go to sleep too. She was worried that something might happen to her best friend while she was away, so she tried to hurry. She did everything as fast as she could before running into the room and closing the door behind her.
She sighed in relief when she saw Alexa in the same spot as before.
She quickly changed into her pajamas and walked over to the king-sized bed. She was an only child, so she had a big room all for herself. Alexa was also an only child, which is why they grew up together.
Grace laid down on the opposite side of the bed, seeing how Alexa's body curled up in front of her. Worrying that she was too close to the end of the bed, she reached out with a shaking hand.
She touched her gently to make sure she wasn't awake and that she might scare her. She understood that Alexa was asleep and slowly pushed her forward. Grace stayed still for a moment, her fingers brushing her best friend's back.
Grace felt a strange sensation as she felt the little body move as Alexa breathed. After a while, she took away her hand and she passed it on her face, sighing softly. She decided it would be much better if they both slept and talked in the morning.
Alexa woke up during the night to the chilling cold that surrounded her. She hugged herself as she shivered and slowly it came back to her mind everything that had happened that night. She snapped her eyes open, hoping to find herself in her room, but what she saw made her heart sink.
She was lying on the pillow of Grace's bed, facing the body of the sleeping giant in front of her. She widened her eyes and tried to back away and then turned around and notice that falling from that height would surely have killed her.
She took a quick breath and put a hand to her chest. She could feel her heart pounding madly and her eyes were about to tear up again.
She looked at Grace's relaxed face as she slept and moved closer so as not to be too close to the end of the pillow. She swallowed a lump in her throat and hoping not to wake the blonde, she took the sheet that had fallen off her and covered herself.
Needless to say, it was all in vain, the cold sheet made the situation worse. But why was it so cold? Maybe her size had something to do with it?
She shivered as she curled up on herself as much as possible to try to warm herself up. She opened her eyes hesitantly and looked at Grace. She was terrified of being touched or observed by her again, but she was dying of cold and was so afraid of her surroundings.
The room was cold and huge, everything seemed immersed in frightening darkness and the only thing she was familiar with was Grace. Alexa told herself mentally that Grace would never hurt her, that they had been friends for years, that she trusted her.
But her mind also made her think of her worst assumptions and she felt her eyes burn. When she was convinced enough she got up, staggered down from her pillow, and approached the blonde's body.
