I don't want to look at him. I can't look at him, after what happened. I don't trust myself enough to look at him, because I know that I'll cry in front of him. "Alice?" asked Brian. I stayed quiet. "I know you're in there. Please, we have training to do." "No we don't and go away," I cracked. "Please open the door," he wept. My heart shattered, I've never seen Brian weep. "Fine. If you don't want to open the door then don't open it," he said coldly. I was scared of this change of heart. When did he become that cold? And most importantly why? "Brian?" I asked but got no answer. I wanted to cry. Everyone leaves me, why?! I heard a knock. I ignored it, but it didn't stop. I gathered enough courage and stood in front of the door. "Who is it?" I asked. "I'm Jade, open up." "Are you alone?" I asked. "Yes?" questioned Jade. I open the door a little bit to see Jade and her surroundings. She is indeed alone. She looked confused and asked, "Will you open the door for me? Or are you going to stay like this. And what are looking at?" she asked as she looked around to see what I was looking at. I opened the door to let her in.

After she entered I closed the door as fast as I can. I can feel a presence outside but I didn't know who and where. "What happened to you? You didn't come to training today. And Brian is pretty pissed. Like he shouted at everyone, even me, which doesn't happen at all," she said and kept talking about what Brian did.

"Stop," I whispered but she maybe didn't hear me. "Stop," I whispered again but it was more visible. She looked at me then completed talking but this time it's not about Brian but the ball that's coming up. "I SAID STOP. Please," I said. She looked taken aback and said, "Alice! Are you okay? Your hand, you have the bodkin." I looked down at my hands and found the same dagger that appeared in my hands yesterday. It was light-weighted with10 inch blade that had a perfectly sharp edge, and had runes engraved on it. It had a decorative guard, a smooth grip inlaid with sapphire, and a spherical pommel. "You mean this dagger?" I asked. "Yeah, it's one of the Hajorical weapons. It's Embeddedeye No one ever saw it after Lady Charlotte," said Jade as she stared at me. "Wait, who's Lady Charlotte?" "She's one of the Lights," she said quietly. "What happened to her?" "She died while trying to protect us. Her dagger disappeared the minute she died."

"Do you have a picture of these Lights? I would like to see one of them," I asked. "Alice. Lights don't have faces. They are literally figures made out of light. They have no faces." "Impossible. I had a dream, well a nightmare actually but there was a Light in my dream. And I am pretty sure he had a face. Like eyes, nose, and a mouth," I said in disbelief. "What?! Is there something we're missing? We technically know everything about you. So how... Unless." "Unless what Jade?" I shouted. "Do you remember your mother?" asked Jade. "What?! What would my mother do with all of this?" I asked while throwing my hands up in frustration. "Just answer the question," warned Jade. "A little bit, but why though?"

"We know everything about since you set foot in this town, but we know nothing about your past life. I think your mother could be the key to our mystery," said Jade. "What are you implying?" I asked. "Alice, your mother may not be what you thought she is or was," said Jade. "I don't understand. You're saying that my mother is some kind of a creature?" I asked. "Either that or your father is a really good at being hidden," she said as she chuckled a bit. "Don't talk about him," I warned. "Why?" "Didn't he tell you?" "Who's 'he'? And tell me what?" she asked confused. "'He' is your bother. He killed my father. Actually you two killed him," I said. "What are you talking about? I would never hurt anyone, let alone kill."

"By your expression, I get that he didn't tell you?" I faked laughed. "He didn't tell me anything. He just yelled at me to get out if his way. That's it," she answered. "Well, Brian got a letter telling him that my father," I said as I was interrupted by a sharp knock on my door. "What?!" I hissed. "Alice, Jade. The park is under attack," hurdled Amy. "What?" Jade and I both said. "Alice. Can we have this talk later? The park is under attack. We'll need as much help as possible," said Jade. "Fine," I sighed out of frustration. "I promise you we'll solve your mystery after, okay?" said Jade as she held out her hand. "Okay," I answered as I shook her hand. "Then let's see who messed with us," smirked Jade. "Yeah, let's go," I said.

We hurried out of the room, to find people I have never seen before running around. Pixies were all around us. It was hectic. "What's happening?" I whispered to myself. "I have no idea," answered Jade. We started running to the playfield. I saw dozens of Lightstringers fighting Shadows? How in the world did the Shadows enter the park? "Jade. How did they enter?" I asked while pointing at the Shadows. "I don't have any idea. But we are going to find out right now," smirked Jade. I don't know what triggered it but I became super alert. Everything slowed down, I could hear every swish of the Lightswords or the Lightarrows piercing through the Shadows. I found some Shadows ganged up on a poor Lightstringer. I aimed my dagger and threw it straight ahead. I then made another dagger and kept throwing them with the speed of light.

I mean we were still at the top of the staircase, we didn't go down to the field and I somehow managed to kill five Shadows. Jade looked at me and said, "Nice aim." "Thanks?" I smiled. We went down and started fighting. As soon as we stepped in the field, all the 'alive' Shadows looked at me. "What do we have here?" said one of the Shadows. "A pulight?!" asked the same Shadow. I didn't answer his questions. All the Lightstringers that were fighting stopped and watched us in amusement. Whispers started to break out about me being a pulight. "SILENCE," shouted the Shadow. I take it by that the he is their leader. "So what if I'm a pulight?!" I asked. "Feisty like your mother. Let me tell you a little story, shall I?" the Shadow asked. "Don't you dare talk about my mother like that?! And why should we listen to you?" I spat. "You'll listen to me whether you like it or not," he said. In an instant, every Shadow grabbed a Lightstringer and set them to their knees so that we'll listen to what that Shadow was going to say.

I tried to get out of the Shadow'shold, but he sunk his fingers in me. I got the same stinging sensation, likewhat happened to me last night. I looked at my shoulder and saw his fingersburning holes in my shoulder. "Once upon a time, there was a Light named LadyCharlotte. She was loved by everyone because she wasn't like every Lights youwould meet," he said as all the Lightstringers stiffen. "Then this big fightbroke between the Shadows and the Lights and as always the Lights won. But youthought that poor Lady Charlotte was killed. Oh, no, no!" he said as heshook his head, then continued pacing. "She was found by a mortal. A mortalthat could see us, creatures. What do you call them?" he asked as he asked oneof the Lightstringers. "The sightseers," spat the girl. He grabbed her by herhair then smashed her head on the white tiles. The girl didn't move.
