"All thanks to you," I said as I nudged him in his side and immediately regret it. "Ow!" "I am sorry. I forgot," I said. I saw him smirk and look me in my eyes, he said, "Just kidding." I hit him hard on his back and said, "Don't you do that! You scared me. I thought I hurt you." He rubbed his back and said, "That hurt." "Good, it's meant to hurt," I said then I left to my room. I looked at the clock, I have exactly 4 hours to get ready. I took a shower and wore my short ball gown. The Prussian blue fabric looked amazing and the heels made me a lot taller. I looked at the clock, I still have an hour and a half. I huffed in frustration. What will I do with this? I got an idea, why don't I call Amy? Maybe she can tell me more about the Lights. "Amy," I called and she appeared in an instant. "Yes?" she asked.
"I need you to tell me everything you know about the Lights," I said as she nodded. We kept talking and talking, until we heard a sharp knocking on the door. I opened up and saw Jade looking angry. "What are you doing here?" she asked. I looked at her confused. Is there something she asked me to do and I forgot about? "I am in my room," I said in a duh voice. "The ball started half an hour ago!" she exclaimed. "What?!" I said. I'm late. I ran into my room and said, "Amy! We're late. We're so late!" I shouted. Amy looked petrified. "Oh no!" she whispered then she disappeared. I exited my room and ran behind Jade. And let me tell you, running in heels is by far the worst thing to do. Eventually, we got to the ball room. "Wait, we have a ball room, oh well," I shrugged. I entered and found the whole room radiating with light. People were all over the place, some were talking and others were dancing. It looked magnificent and excessive.
Jade waved at someone then grabbed my arm and started dragging to this someone. "Alice this is Queen Madelia," beamed Jade. We finally meet Queen Madelia. I bowed my head and said, "It's lovely meeting you your majesty." "Aren't you cute?" she said as she pinched my cheeks. Although Jade can't see her face, I can see it and she's beautiful. Actually, breathtaking. She wore a white gown that brought out her grey coloured eye. She reminded me of my mother. She looked graceful and young. "Dear? Are you okay? You look flustered?" asked the queen. "Yeah! I'm alright," I smiled. "Where are your parents then? I want to meet them?" asked the queen. I looked at Jade, we never rehearsed for that. "My parents died your majesty," I said as I looked at my feet. "I am sorry to hear that. If you don't mind me to ask, how did they die?" she asked. I was about to answer but I found a hand on my waist.
A scream left my mouth, then I heard laughing. I saw behind me was Brian, looking ravishing in his royal blue tuxedo. "I was going to twist your arm, you idiot," I said as I hit his chest. "Sorry not sorry," he said as he looked me in my eyes. He took off his eyes and looked at the queen. "May I steal Alice from you, your majesty?" asked Brian as he gave me a smirk. "Of course," said the queen. Brian offered me a hand and asked, "May I have this dance?" I chuckled a little at his gesture and I bowed then said, "You may." I took his hand and went to dance floor. "Thank you for saving me," I said as we got engulfed in the dancing crowd. "Yeah, I saw the queen giving you a hard time," he whispered. "What were you talking about?" he asked. "She asked to see my parents. I simply told her that they died. That wasn't enough for her, so she asked me about how they died. I think she suspects something," I said.
"I don't know what she suspect, but when the queen suspects someone, they aren't leaving her eyes. So to sum up, the queen is keeping an eye on you," whispered Brian. He spun me around then said, "We need to execute the plan," whispered Brian. I just smiled to him and whispered back, "Introduce me to the rest of Lights, but I need you to be there with me." "I am always with you," he said as he took my hand as we left the dance floor. We were talking to a Lightstringer and I noticed someone. "Hey Brian," I whispered. "Yeah?" he said. "Who's that?" I said as I bobbed my head towards the familiar face. "That's Prince Franklin," he answered. "He's the one," I said. "The one?" asked Brian confused. "He's the one that I saw in my dreams," I said. His eyes widened then he calmed himself. "Do you know how Prince Franklin is?" asked. I glared at him and said, "He's the son of King Arthur."
"You did your homework," winked Brian. "If you do that again, I'm leaving!" I said. He winked again. "You asked for it!" he held my wrist and said, "Ok, I am sorry." "Oh my god," he huffed. "What is it?" I asked. "Prince Franklin saw us and is waving at us," he whispered. "Then we should go say hi," I said as I dragged him behind me. "Prince Franklin, how are your highness?" asked Brian. "Brian, I am good," the prince answered. "This is Ali-," Brian tried to say but was interrupted. "Alice Evans. I know who she is!" warned the prince. "How did you-," asked Brian but once again got interrupted, but this time from me. "Of course his highness knows. I just talked to her majesty there. I think she told him," I smiled. I tried to look not uncomfortable. "Darling, how could you forget me that fast? Do I need me to appear in your dreams again? You know it's not har-," he kept talking but I zoned out. We got busted. Abort mission! I repeat, abort mission. We got busted. If only someone can listen to me.
I smiled tightly at Brian and he understood immediately. He smiled at Prince Franklin and said, "I am sorry you highness, but I think Jade waved at us. Excuse us." Both of us bowed our head and ran to Jade. "Hey! Why are looking like you've seen a ghost? Are you okay?" asked Jade. I swallowed hard and said, "He's the one in my dreams." "Prince Franklin was in your dreams?" asked Jade. "Lower your voice! And yes. I think he knows, we are doomed," I said. "So what do we do now?" asked Brian as I looked at him. "Wait, let me call Amy," I said as I mentally called Amy. Amy appeared in front of us. "I missed you Samuel," she said as she hugged the air. "Samuel who?" asked Jade. "What- How?" "I brought you here," I said. "What do you want?" she asked. "I think we have been busted," I said. Now, she looked furious. "Did you glow?" she asked. "No! But Prince Franklin appeared in my dream. He told me that I would be their doom," I said. "Okay. Don't worry and don't go looking like this. You all look like you murdered someone," she said as she disappeared.
I laughed at her comment and said,"I am going to the bathroom." "Okay, be careful," said Brian. "Ok." By that, Iwas off to the bathroom. After I finished my business, I exited the bathroom, only to be slammed on the wall. I was about to scream but a hand came on mymouth and muffled it. I looked at the face in front of me, trying to recognizethe face. Then it clicked, it was Prince Franklin in human form. "You think youcan hide?" he asked. I nodded yes. He laughed and said, "I don't think that'show you treat your grandfather." My eyes widened, so he knows. I tried to getout of his hold but failed. "Why are you trying to get out? You do know that Iam much stronger than you," he said. We then heard ruffles at the end of thehallway, he looked at me and whispered, "Don't tell anyone about this. See youat the party." By that, he disappeared. Jade appeared in front of me and said,"What took you so long?" I was about to tell her then Franklin's words poppedin my head. "Don't tell anyone about this." "Um... I got lost," I said.
