"I'll take him to the medical compound," I said and she just nodded while cupping her brother's face. "And I'll take care of this mess," she finally said as she stood up. I looked around the playfield. They were a lot of bodies, but it wasn't compared to the Shadows. Although, they are now nothingness but they really outnumbered us. If I didn't kill them, they would've killed us all. I picked up Brian and went to the medical compound. And let me tell you, he was very heavy. I laid him on one of the beds. The pixies came flying in checking him. "How's he?" I asked. "He has been attacked right in the neck beside his major artery," said one of the pixies. "In English please," I pleaded. "He got attacked but it's not something major. Right now, we have to figure out how to tend his wounds without actually hurting him," said Linda. She was coming from behind me.
"Linda, I-," I tried to say. "There's no time for that Alice. I know what you are going through. And I know you didn't mean to do that," she smiled. "You pixies always know what I think about," I laughed. "Now go. We need to get him out of the critical zone," she said as I nodded. I went out of the room, down to the common room. There I found Jade looking anxious. "How is he doing?" she asked as soon as her eyes met mine. "They're still working. But in the meantime, I need a favor," I said as I averted my eyes form hers. "I know now is not the right time but I-," I said as she interrupted me. She put her hands on my shoulder and said, "Alice you're like my little sister. What do you need?" "I want to go to my old house. Search around see if I could solve this mystery." "Ok, but you'll need help. Let me call an old friend and she can help you." "Ok."
After my talk with Jade, I went back to my room to pack. I heard some knocks on the door, I opened to find a vampire was looking at me. She looked so young. "Hello, I'm Tina," she said coldly. "Hey Tina?" I answered awkwardly. "What are you doing here?" "I'm here to take you to your old house," she answered again in the same tone. "Okay! Give a minute," I said. "Take your time." I invited her to enter then checked over everything I have. I was about to say something but then heard a knock one the door. I rolled my eyes and opened the door to find Amy. "What are you doing here Amy?" I asked. "I am going to go with you," she answered. "What is this? A party?" I asked. "Alice, I am your personal Pixie. I need to be there to ensure your safety."
"You know coming to the think of it, I have never seen nor Brian's neither Jade's personal Pixie." "Actually, you met Brian's personal Pixie, she's Linda. And Jade's personal Pixie is Gerald. He usually sits at her room. But he's always with her in all her quests." "Okay, you may come in but I should warn you- And she's gone" "Alice!" screamed Amy. "What?" I questioned as I ran into the room. "What's a vampire doing in your room?" she asked. "She's here to help me," I answered. "What?!" she exclaimed. "She's here to help and that's final. Plus, why do you hate her? She's uh, charming?" I said as Tina's blue eyes pierced through me. "I am not practically fond of blood suckers," she said. "Hey! Watch your mouth fairy," said Tina. "I am a Pixie!" fumed Amy.
"Guys! Put your differences aside. Please, I need your help," I said. "Fine. But only if she stops calling me a fairy," said Amy. "Tina, please apologize," I asked. "Sorry," said Tina. "Apology accepted," smiled Amy only to be met with Tina's snarls. "Good. Now that we're done. Let's go," I said as I slung the backpack onto my back. We walked down to the field and stood in front of the front gate. This is my first time out of this place. I wonder if I'll meet my old friends. Maybe I could get away from this place for once and for all. "Don't even think about it," said Tina. "How did you-?" I asked but she said, "I saw how you were thinking besides, I'm a vampire. You think you would outsmart a vampire?" she asked and I bobbed my head no. "That's what I thought," she said.
"What are you guys talking about," asked Amy. "Nothing. Let's go," said Tina as she held my arm out of the Lightstringers' park. As I was walking, I glanced at the park form time to time. The park seemed to fade then appear again. "What's happening to the park?" I asked. "The Pixies enchanted the park to be only seen by any creature not by mortals," said Tina. "Wow!" I said. "That's wow to you?" asked Tina. "Yeah." "Then see this," she said as she sped to the end of the street. Weird, there are no cars. "Hey I can do that," I said as I sped to be next to her. She looked astonished. "How did you-?" "I'm a Lightstringer." "I know what you are. But your kind is not that fast," she said. "I don't know," I shrugged. "Amy you coming?" I asked. "I- am- here," she said breathlessly. "This is going to be fun," I said as I ran down the street. "So, Tina what do you do?" I asked. "I ran a business," she answered. "What kind?" I asked. She huffed and said, "Will you shut up for once?" "If you answer my questions then yes," I said as I gave her a cheeky smile. "Questions?" she asked as she stressed on the s. I nodded yes. She sighed and said, "I'm the CEO of the Wallace Comp." "No way. I love your designs. I remember once I went there shopping. And all the designs amazed me," I said, I was going to continue but Tina glared and me. I guess she was waiting for the rest of the questions. "Why did you chose that as a carrier?" "Because it fits my personality very well. Ruthless, Merciless, businesswoman," she said as she gave me her creepiest smile. I kept asking few more questions.
Amy was from time to time glance at me, checking if I was okay. After I finished with my questions she said, "There I answered all of your questions, therefore shut up." And I did shut up. We kept walking and sometimes running until we reached my old house. It wasn't that big, but it was much bigger than the new one. Its red bricked walls looked dusty. The black wooden door was still intact, even the white fence. I was about to enter my property when someone shouted, "Hey! You're trespassing. If you don't get off the property, I'm going to call the police." I chuckled. Good old Fred, still being a loyal neighbor. I remember when we were going to move we asked Fred to look after the house. He's still keeping his promise. I turned around and said, "It's quite alright. Thank you so much Frederic for keeping your promise."
"Your voice sounds familiar. Do Iknow you?" asked Fred. "Fred, did you really forget me?" I asked. I saw Fredsquint his eyes through his glasses. When he collected all the pieces helaughed and said, "Oh, silly me! How can I forget you dear? The age made mysenses all rusty. We don't you come inside and we can have a bit of a chat.""That would be nice. Right guys?" I asked. "Yay!" mocked Tina. "Hey! He's anold man. Manners," I glared at her. "And I'm an old woman," she barked back."Let's go, Amy," I said as I heard Tina huff beside me. We entered the oldman's house. The house still looked like the last time I left it. The bearcarpet looked old. The rocking chair was abandoned and dusty. Weird? Mrs.Blackwell always sits on that chair. I set my jacket that I was wearing to theclothes rack and asked, "Hey Fred! Where's Hailey? She's not on the chairknitting?"
