I kept crying and crying wishing this would be some kind of a nightmare that I would eventually wake up from. I saw that the sun was setting and I know that sometime now, they'll come to take my father. After a few minutes, I heard a soft knock on the door. I looked up and opened the door for whoever was knocking the door. I found Amy with two other pixies. "Hey. This is Linda and this is Marla," said Amy as she introduced me to the pixies. I knew the name Linda. Wait, how do I know about Linda? Then the memory of the letter flashed in my mind. I suddenly became furious. I grabbed Linda by her throat and hit her on the wall. "You're the one that looked after my father, didn't you?" I asked with so much detest. I made a small dagger, I didn't know where I saw that dagger but I made it.
Linda was trembling. "Answer me!" I screamed. She stood there silent. I was broken from her by Brian. "Hey, hey! Alice what are you doing?" shouted Brian as he held me. "Leave me! I am going to kill her like she killed my father!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Linda's eyes widened so she turned into her small pixie form and flew out of here. So did Marla and Amy. "You can run as much as you like Linda, but I swear on my dead father that I'll kill you!" I screamed. I felt Brian's hands trying to calm me down. I wanted to hug him and cry in his shoulder, but then I remembered, he too was a murderer. He didn't let me see my father. "Don't touch me," I said. I was going to go but then I felt him grab my wrist. "Where did you get that dagger?" asked Brian. Only now did I notice the weird looking dagger in my hands. "None of your business," I spat as I rushed out of the compound and went to my room.
Although, it was a lot of walking but I eventually found it. That night I cried my eyes out. I cried until I slept. I woke up the nest day with a horrible headache. According to the Lightstringers, we have exactly one week until the Lights come for the party. I didn't want to train anymore, why was I even training? I got up and didn't take a shower. I found a black dress in the end of the wardrobe. I wore it and went out as quietly as I could. I went to the compound and found them taking my father out of his 'room'. I followed them in secret and found them burying him in the garden behind the compound. I waited until the pixies left completely, then went to now my father's grave. I bent down and looked at his grave stone it said 'A Loving Mortal Father'.
I chuckled but then cried. He was really dead. At least he was my mother. I started to remember our memories together. I remember once when I was eight years old. I wanted to go to my friend Sarah's birthday. Mum was having a fever, so dad was babysitting my mother and me instead of going to his work. My mother was trying to help him but he told her to lay down in bed and to not to move. I threw a tantrum telling them I hated them so much. My father came and scolded me. I felt like my parents didn't love me. I said that I wanted to die so that they'll finally be happy. I went to my room and locked myself and cried the whole night. The next day, my dad knocked on the door and brought with him my favorite ice cream. I instantly forgave him. God, I miss these days. When mum and dad were still alive. Why did you leave me here all alone? Why did you leave without me?
"You know we are always here Alice," someone said. "Stand back," I said as I made the same dagger. "Alice! Where did you learn to do that?" asked the same person. "Who are you?" I asked trying to trace the stranger's voice. "Where are you?" I looked around until I spotted the light coming from the darkness. The stranger look somewhat like my dad. "Dad?" I cracked. "Hello dear," answered the ghost. "No. You're dead. This is your grave," I sobbed. "I know," he answered as he roamed around me. "But I'm always here," he said as he touched my chest where my heart is. His touch was like magic but then it started to sting. "Dad?" I asked. "Yes," he answered as he sunk his finger in my chest deeper. "What-what are you doing?" I asked as tried to move his fingers, but as soon as I touched them, they stung.
"Wait. Why does your hand sting?" I asked. "Why do you think that? I want you to come with us Alice," he said as he crocked his head. "What...? Dad. Stop, you're hurting me," I sobbed. "Isn't that what you wanted? To be with us?" he said as his face darkened. "No, you are not my father. My father was a loving man. He would never kill his own daughter." "Well, I'll kill you like I killed your father." "What!" I sobbed. "Did you really think your mother died because some kind of disease?" he laughed as he looked to my face. "Pathetic! I really thought you were smarter than that." "STAY AWAY FORM HER!" shouted Brian as he stood in front of me and 'dad'. The ghost looked a bit surprised. He let go of me and I clutch my burning chest. "Wait, Brian don't shoot. He's my father," I screamed as I saw Brian ready to shoot with his bow. I stood in front of Brian and 'dad' "You really believe that shadow is your father?" he laughed. "But Shadows' are dark, not made of light."
"I need to teach her more about Shadows," whispered Brian to himself but I was able to hear him. "Alice. Shadows can manipulate you to see things that aren't there. Also he shouldn't be here," said Brian. "What?" "They can't enter the park without being burned. So someone must've granted him access to enter "Shut up little boy," screamed the ghost. Now, 'dad' was inches away from Brian, but Brian didn't move. In a blink of an eye, dad's figure flickered and there I saw it. It wasn't dad, it was a Shadow. I don't know how to describe what I'm seeing. It definitely had a body of a human but it had grey smoke around it. Eyes so white that it could blind you, exactly like the park. His fingers were so tall. I saw his tall fingers trail around Brian's neck then clasp around his neck. He lifted Brian off the ground. "Let him down!" I screamed but the Shadow just looked at me and smiled.
Brian grunted and tried to free himself but failed miserably. "I said LET HIM DOWN!" I shouted. This time the Shadow looked horrified, I didn't know why at the time. Then I looked around me I found myself glowing. I marched up to them and looked at the Shadow, the worry never leaving his face. "I may be new to this world but you're messing with the wrong people," I said as I stuck my dagger in him. His figure turned rigid as if he was turning to stone. The stab wound glowed brightly as did his eyes. "Don't ever miss with me or my friends again," I finally said as the Shadow dissolved into nothing. At the same time, Brian fell with a loud thud. I helped him up and he said, "Thanks for saving me." "I did what needed to be done," I answered him.
"Still. I'm thankful." "You don'tneed to thank me," I said then grunted. I looked down to see my chest bleeding."You're hurt," he said as he tried to touch me. I took a step back and said,"I'm okay." I then disappeared to my room. I locked the door so no one couldenter. I didn't find Amy, so that was good. I didn't want to talk about myfather and what happened today at the compound. I went to sleep as soon as myhead hit the pillow. I was so sleepy because of all the crying I did back thereat father's grave. I slept without any nightmares this day. Only memories of myparents and me. I woke up the next day with a swollen eye. I guess, I wascrying in my dreams. I looked down at my wound but found none. Huh? How is thatpossible? I went and took a shower then sat on my bed. I didn't want to go totraining today. If I'll go, I'll meet with Brian.
