I asked around and none of who I asked seemed suspicious. I returned back to the common room and waited for Brian. He came jogging then asked, "Did you find anything?" "No. you?" I asked. "Well. There's Kyle, but Kyle is always that awkward," he sighed. "What were you guys doing?" asked Jade. "We asked around, but we came empty handed," I sighed. Someone came running into the common room, searching for someone. "Brian!" he shouted. "Here!" waved Brian. He ran to Brian then whispered something. Brian's face turned red. "What is it Brian?" asked Jade. He looked at her then me. "Jade? Take care of Alice. I need to go somewhere." "Hey? What happened?" I said as I held his hand. He looked at me then removed my hand. "Stay here. Jade? Don't let her get out of here, you heard me?!" he said as he rushed out. I looked back at Jade then said, "I'm sorry Jade, but I need to go after him." "I know. Just be careful?" "Wait what?! You won't stop me? Even after what Brian told you?" "I can't stop you. Even if I did, you'll find a way to free yourself. Good luck pulight!" she said as she hugged me.
I smiled then said, "Thank you." I rushed after Brian. Everything seemed the same. Nothing was out of order and I started to wonder what happened to make that man barge in like that. I walk around slowly, trying not to alert the others of my presence. Wherever I walked, no one was found. "Where's everyone?" I asked myself. "Oh! Isn't that the pulight?!" shouted someone. "I thought they took care of you?" I asked when I saw her. "Yeah. They did lock me up you know," she answered as she circled around me. "How did you get out? If you really were locked up, you wouldn't be able to get out?!" I asked. "Yeah, funny sorry actually. Let's say, I snuck out," she as she crooked her head to me. She started to lightstring and she made her dagger. The heavy 6 inch/15cm blade had a very sharp edge, and had runes engraved on it. It had a decorative guard, a detailed pale grey grip, and a pommel with a sigil set inside a disk. It has no scabbard. "What are you doing?" I asked, clearly knowing what she's going to do. "I'm here to take my revenge! That means I'm here to kill you for taking Brian away from me!" she said as a smile played on her lips. While she was talking, I made my dagger.
In an instant, she swung her dagger at me but I was too quick to let her get to me. She didn't stop there, she started swinging her dagger like a crazy person. Usually, I would've asked someone to help me, but no one was there to help. She was going to strike down her dagger, but I saw an opportunity to my advantage and took it. I slashed right into her stomach. She stopped and looked down at her wound. She looked taken aback by my sudden slash. She touched the blood that was leaping through her white shirt. She looked at me as if I killed her, but then she brought her bloody fingers to her face and started licking them and with the rest, she smeared it ask over her face. She started laughing like a lunatic. "Darling!" She pouted, twisting the dagger in her hand. "You're crazy!" I shouted. "Crazy?! YOU DARE TO CALL ME CRAZY?!" she shouted. "Yes! Can't you see yourself! Adalyn look at yourself! This isn't you!" I yelled back. "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ME! Pulight!" she said, making the last word full of venom. "You took everything from me!" "I didn't take anything from you!" I shouted. She was now advancing, aiming to kill me. I let my dagger dissolve. She just wanted someone to talk to. "You're talking about Brian. Aren't you?" I asked and she stopped dead in her tracks.
"Don't you dare say his name!" she spat back in disgust. Now, she was a few feet away from me. "I know you have something for Brian. Maybe if you stop, you two can talk things through," I said I walked up to her. It was like staring at death itself. "I won't hurt you." "I know. But, next time when lock someone up make sure that they don't have a deal with the Shadows!" she said as she was about to sink her dagger in me. Mere seconds before she did that, she was struck with an arrow in her head. She fell with a loud thud. I was about to move when the black spots appeared in front of me. I looked down and saw her sword. After all, she did sink her sword in me but not all the way in. I fell to you the ground, panting, trying to keep my breathing steady but couldn't. Brian was by my side trying to keep me clam, but nothing seemed to work. I tried to remove the sword but every time I move it more spots danced in front of me. I had to complete fighting, for my people, for Amy, for mum and dad, for me. I took her sword out and as I did I screamed in pain. My scream got unneeded attention. I stood up then glowed. I wound suddenly disappeared but at the same time Shadows started to appear. Everyone that seemed to be hiding came out to fight. I don't know how I summoned them but I started to summon lightsoldiers to help the Lightstringers in their fight. The lightsoldiers looked exactly like humans but made of light and they were under my command.
"Where's the pulight that killed my father?!" screamed one of the Shadows. Brian looked at me and shook his head. I cupped his face then said, "It's okay." "I'M HERE!" I shouted. "You-! I WILL KILL YOU!" he exclaimed. "Come on! Let me see what you've got!" I said as I got into my position. I lightstringed a new dagger, a dagger I thought would be the most powerful dagger. It was exceptionally heavy 12 inch/30cm blade. It had an exceptionally sharp edge, and runes engraved on it. It had a fancy guard, a jewel-encrusted grip, and a round pommel with a long orange tassel on the end. Its scabbard was made of bronze with leather trimmings, and was covered by brown cloth. The Shadow charged at me, but I dodged him easily. "Is that all you've got Shadow?" I shouted as he growled. He charged again and moved aside. "I'm getting bored here. Show me your anger! Come on!" I shouted. He opened and closed his claws then said, "Anger? I'll show you anger!" He summoned a war hammer. The small hammer head had a triangular prism, and had runes engraved on its side. The opposing end tapers off into two 9 inch/23cm long prongs. The rosewood handle was 11 inches/28cm long with a solid gold grip.
"The famous Rose hammer?" I asked. "How-did you know its name?" he seemed shocked. I chuckled, "I'm a pulight Shadow.Weapons are everything. I know the metal kind and name. I know its dimensions.I even know the runes engraved on its side. I must say, impressive work. Thankyour blacksmith for me." He growled and the hammer got covered in shadow. "You'retalkative pulight!" he spat. "It's called a distraction," I said as I titled myhead. "Distraction? Ah-!" he asked as a lightsoldier jabbed a sword in theShadow. "Thank you," I sighed. "At your service ma'am," he said as hedisappeared. "Well, this is new," said Brian as he patted my shoulder. "Yeah. Ididn't know I could do that."
