*AN: So This chapter we get to know Toga better, so here we go. Also while writing this, I was listening to "Partners in Crime" by Set it Off which seems to fit this relationship surprisingly well.

Previously:

"My name is Himiko Toga, and I accept."

You woke up in the next morning. Recruiting Toga to the brotherhood was luckily successful. From what you've seen she'd be an amazing assassin. You wanted some confirmation though.

Walking out to the main room, you see Toga practicing with her knife. She moved fluidly, and gracefully. You quietly watched from the shadows of the hallway.

It took a little while for her to finish, but when she did you slowly revealed yourself. "Good job Toga, you're an expert with that knife."

She looked at you, and smiled sadly. "Thanks Y/N, I needed to get good with it in order to survive." You introduced yourself to her last night while running back to the sanctuary.

You nodded, it made sense. If she couldn't protect herself, she would die. "How about we eat some breakfast and then I can learn the limits of your skills. It would make training you much easier."

It was her turn to nod this time. You two quickly ate breakfast, and moved back out to the central chamber.

You got out a target and put it up against a wall, "Alright Toga, I wanna see how well you can throw the knives. Whenever you're ready just give it a shot." You walked away from the target and watched her get into a stance.

She took her knifes and threw them at the target. She wasn't great, which also made sense, she couldn't just throw her only weapon on the streets. Still though, she hit the target a few times, she's kind of a prodigy for this.

When she threw the final knife, you walked up to her and looked at the target. "Good job Toga, you did good for your first time." You patted her head. You couldn't see since you were looking at the target, but she was blushing hard.

"Thank you Y/N!"

You chuckled and decided to continue on with evaluation.

Over the next few days, you watched her and evaluated her skills. All the while critiquing and figuring out training to improve herself.

You figured out she was amazing at climbing and had amazing agility. Her close combat with her knife was astounding, and she somehow learned how to hide her presence, so she was even better at stealth than you were. Her quick learning would also make training her faster and easier.

When you two weren't training or evaluating her, you taught her the history of the conflict between the assassins and templars. She quickly grasped the concept by relating it to the current conflict of today.

She also told you about her past, with her family, and school life. She was discriminated at school and neglected by her family. Two things you as an assassin and a decent person absolutely despised.

Putting that aside, you realized you just needed to see her in action before you could fully initiate her into the order.

Looking through the list of outposts you find one that has some weapons but not much else. It was also on the outskirts of town, so there wouldn't be many witnesses to rat them out.

That one should be a good enough test. It's challenging enough without being impossibly difficult.

"Toga, we have a mission." You showed here the warehouse on the map. "We need to clear out this warehouse, and gather whatever we can. Mostly info."

She nodded, "Alright, so how are we gonna do this?" She didn't look up at you when you said this, just staring at the map.

You looked at her and sucked your teeth, "*hsss* Actually, you're gonna do it." She whipped her head up to look at you. You braced a little for some sort of verbal backlash before you continued. "This will be your final test, don't worry too much though, I'll be close by to make sure nothing too bad happens."

She seemed to smile at you and relax a little bit. "As long as you're with me, I'll be fine." You blushed a little, it's nice that over the days that you've come to know her she grew to trust you this much. Then she suddenly became excited, "This mission does sound fun though, I like a good challenge. What are my objectives?"

This change in her attitude was interesting to say the least. "You just have to get in, grab as much information as possible, and get out without getting spotted. You also have to kill at least two guards, so I can make sure you can kill when you're not in danger."

She nodded along, "What equipment do I get?" She glanced down at your wrists before looking you in the eyes again.

You noticed the glance, and chuckled, "You don't get these yet, after I finish initiating you into the brotherhood you'll get these. You do however get your own robes to help with this mission."

Her smile grew wider, she was excited to finally match with her mentor and crush. She started seeing you as a crush as soon as she saw your face, but a mentor when you first started helping her and giving her tips in her training.

You led her to the armory for her to pick out her robes, and then waited outside for her to change.

When she came out, you went red.

She looked stunning. You quickly hid your blush and composed yourself. She looked up at you with her arms out, "So, what do you think?"

You were quick to respond, "You look good, but let's get this mission started."

*AN: So I was thinking of writing another story alongside this one, alternating the publishing of them. It'll be a Belmont Male Reader x RWBY story. Tell me what you think about it.
