Chapter 30 - Unlikely Team-up

Previously:

"NOW, ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE I EXPLAIN THE RULES!?"

Currently:

The class had a few questions, "How does one win?" "Can I just blast everyone away?!" "How fabulous is my cape?"

"ALRIGHT EVERYONE CALM DOWN, MY QUIRK ISN'T SUPER HEARING! LET ME EXPLAIN THE EXERCISE AND IT SHOULD ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS!"

He then went on to explain a very western movie scenario. "EVERYONE WILL BE PUT INTO TEAMS OF TWO. THEN THOSE TEAMS WILL BE PAIRED UP! ONE TEAM WILL BE THE VILLAINS, AND ONE TEAM WILL BE THE HEROES! THE VILLIANS WILL HIDE A BOMB SOMEWHERE IN THE BASE AND PROTECT IT WHILE THE HEROES INFILTRATE, AND EITHER CAPTURE THE BOMB OR THE VILLAINS! THE VILLIANS WILL HAVE 5 MINUTES OF PREP TIME AND EACH MATCH WILL LAST 15 MINUTES!"

Someone dressed in armor raised their hand. "Sir! How are teams being decided!?"

All Might then proceeded to hold up a box that said LOTS! "TEAMS WILL BE DECIDED BY LOTS!"

The armor again had some sort of objection. "But sir, that seems like a very haphazard way to decide teams."

Then a green bunny with a weirdly human smile spoke up. "No, it makes sense. In the field there are many times when you can't decide who you team up with."

Armor boy then raised his hand again, "I apologize for my short-sightedness. Please continue!"

"EHEM, NOW EVERYONE PLEASE COME AND GRAB A LOT." Everyone started grabbing lots and pairing up.

Eventually everyone ended up where they were supposed to, and it looked like this.

Bakugo was paired with the armor. Midoriya was paired with Uraraka. Toga was paired with the girl with spiky hair. Everyone was paired with each other. Although your partner, was someone you would never expect. William Cormac himself. 

This would be kind of weird considering you two probably had the same skills. You two looked at each other. William then huffed and left you to your own devices. Deciding he wasn't worth the trouble you turned back to see what the first match was. 

"THE FIRST MATCH WILL BE BETWEEN THESE TWO!" He then pulled out two balls from a different box. They read A, and D. Each representing Midoriya's team and Bakugo's team respectively.

Everyone except those four made their way to the observation room. When you arrived, you saw two teachers you didn't recognize. They both seemed calm, yet alert. The clothes they wore seemed a lot like yours and William's. They also had bracers on their wrists. 

Finally using your Eagle Vision, they both had red silhouettes. These were enemies, and using all the information you have, albeit most of it outdated. You could conclude that these were the adults of the Cormac clan.

They looked over the class and made their eyes over to you, and you felt yourself tense. In this one moment, they could decide that you were dead. They then kept moving their gaze to the monitors streaming the battle.

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. Toga was with her partner talking. Probably about their upcoming match. You thought about doing the same, but looking to William you saw that he was by his parents and decided that it would be a dangerous place to be. 

So, you just decided to sit and watch the other matches until yours. 

The first match was interesting to say the least. There were some major powerhouses in that battle. The winners were in poor health, and the losers barely had a scratch on them. 

Then almost directly after that the human candy cane froze a whole building. Some of these kids are scary.

Many battles were very mediocre and mundane. Other than your own, there were two that you were interested in. Toga's match, and Jiro's. Toga because, you know, she's your girlfriend. Jiro's because you want to know how her combat prowess is like.

Unfortunately, both of their matches were after your own. Speaking of, it was actually next. It was you and William against a froggy female and an avian headed adolescent. Your team was assigned as the villains. 

"VILLAINS, ENTER THE BUILDING AND MAKE YOUR PREPARATIONS!" You and William went in, and you figured this was a good a time as any to make a plan.

"Hey, so if we're going to win this, we kinda need a plan. So, what's your quirk?"

William gave you a side glance. "It's called Silence. If I focus on something it becomes absolutely silent. Given long enough I can affect a whole area or have the effect on one thing become lasting."

You thought about it, and it's a pretty good quirk for this type of work. "You know my quirk already, but I think with your quirk, we should go for a hide and pick them off type of plan."

"Yeah, I think that'll work. Plus, with my blow dart, I can shoot them from a distance with sleep darts."

"So, we'll shoot them from long distance, with sleep darts." WIlliam then gave you a look that said, 'You'll kill them' "Relax William, this is a dart rifle. I also have sleep darts."

William then started walking away, "So we hide in the shadows, and when they cross our paths, we shoot them. We should cover multiple angles in case they try a different route and if they both come up together, we can hold them off. Unless that sword is just for show?"

You brush him off and get into position so you can watch the stairwell, and the bomb. Which was positioned on the third floor of this 4-story building.

You weren't entirely sure where William went but you weren't entirely worried about it. You trusted his combat abilities. 

"HEROES MAY ENTER THE BUILDING." Go time baby for this unlikely team-up.
