Previously:
Thus the brotherhood, gained their littlest and most adorable recruit.
Currently:
A week after gaining your new recruit you took her to a doctor you discovered on the black market.
You went to meet him with the little girl and came across a doctor's office. It was a perfectly normal pediatrician and was perfectly legal. They just didn't ask certain questions that could cause problems.
After meeting with the receptionist and waiting for your appointment, the nurse took you two back and did all the necessary tests. Weight, height, blood pressure, you know those things.
Then after all of the tests, they were taken to the room. Looking over at Eri you could see she was a nervous. "You alright Eri?"
She looked at you and could see your sympathetic eyes, "Yeah, I'm just not good with new people."
You nodded in understanding, "Do you think me being over there next to you could help?"
She looked away, but nodded. You got up and sat next to her where she leaned closer to you. You smiled, it was nice that she trusted you.
The doctor came in and Eri grabbed onto your jacket. The doctor looked up from her charts to Eri, "I'm assuming you're the patient?"
Eri looked confused so you answered for her, "That's right doc, this is her."
The doctor looked at you, "Alright, then who are you?"
You tried to find the right word for it, "I'm herrrrr, guardian? Yeah guardian."
She nodded her head, "Alright so, just from the basic tests, she malnourished. I'd have to get blood to determine her vaccinations, and I'd also like to do a MRI to determine if she suffers from any mental disorders."
"That's all fine, we need to figure out if anything is wrong."
Then for the next hour, you helped guide Eri through all the tests, and reassuring her when she needed it. By the end of the hour she was exhausted, and promptly fell asleep in your arms.
Then you had to wait another half an hour for the results. When they came, he found out everything he needed to. "Alright, so the results are back, she's behind on shots for about a year, so I'd like to get those done today. Her brain is fine, nothing to report there. She has a small fracture in her leg that should heal up on its own soon. Other than that, nothing to really worry about. All of those scars she has are healed up nicely and without infection. Health wise, she'll be fine."
You brightened up, she was gonna be fine you didn't have to worry. But you felt something bad was about to happen and you made it known, "So what's the bad news?"
She sighed, and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Well since I don't need to sugarcoat it for you I'll just get it over with." She removed her hand from her nose, and rested her head on it. "Her quirk is a problem, it allows her to rewind organic things to a previous state. It's an amazing quirk, but difficult to control."
Ahh yes, her quirk it did sound potentially dangerous, but also potentially very helpful. Wounds, could be rewound, and so could poisons. If it was strong enough, it might be able to revert genetic makeup to rebirth ancestors. Although you doubt that would even be possible.
The doctor looked at you, "Do you think you'll be able to handle this?"
You looked down at the little girl sleeping in your arms. She was clutching on to you fiercely, yet seemed so peaceful at the same time. You couldn't just let her go. This week with her has been amazing, and full of adorableness. She got along with M and Toga too. You couldn't just give that up.
You look the doctor in the eyes, "I can do it."
She seemed to look for any sign of hesitation before sighing and surrendering, "All right kid, let's get this all done and over with."
She walked out of the room to get the vaccines and syringes. You sat and waited there, just holding her. You wanted to make sure she didn't go through what you did. Now that you thought about it, the brotherhood was just like a family. You and Toga were the parents, while Eri was your daughter.
Granted the whole idea was kind of ridiculous, you two were trained killers, and only 13 years old at that. Eri was 4, maybe 5, and you were thinking of bringing her into this. It was just terrifying, and left you questioning if what you wanted, and what was best for Eri were two different things.
The doctor came in, snapping you out of your thoughts. "Alright, so we need to do 4 vaccinations today, and then come back at some point before flu season, and we can give her the Influenza vaccine."
You nodded and the doctor began making preparations for the injections. Now that you thought about it, you haven't been vaccinated in a while. Toga probably hasn't been either. You made the decision to come back here soon so you two can get that sorted.
"Alright, all done." You were surprised by the doctor's speed in doing these vaccinations. Looking down, you also see Eri still asleep with Recovery Girl band-aids on her arm.
You looked up at the doctor, "Thank you doctor uhhhhh-"
"My name is Dr. Yokoyama"
You nodded, "Yes, thank you. Also, I'll probably come back soon with a friend of mine to get ourselves checked up."
Dr. Yokoyama grabbed her keyboard, "Alright, let's just set an appointment and we'll get you all scored away."
After setting that up, you followed the doc out of the clinic. "Alright, I'll be seeing you doc."
"See you, and don't forget your appointment."
You left feeling relieved that Eri was okay. You took her home and decided to wait until she was better before even thinking about training her.
Man, you really were like a father to her. Who knew you'd figure all that out with a simple doctor's visit.
AN: Just to let you guys know, I started another story. It's still in it's infancy though, with only one actual chapter. I'm hoping to update it soon and make it as successful as this story apparently is. So yeah, check it out if you like RWBY and/or Castlevania.
