Trying Normal Life

Nova and Sage settled in quite fast in Tony's house.

It was big house and very chaotic the first few days but after a few days of adjusting to their new lifestyle, the house got quieter. Not by much though, but it was start.

"Okay girls, great news", said Tony at Breakfast one morning as he sat in the chair beside Bruce and across from the two girls. "Your starting school on Monday."

Nova nearly chocked on her pancake.

"On Monday? But that's already the worst day of the week", she whined.

"Oh, come on", Tony assured her, pouring out some orange juice and handing it to Sage. "You'll be fine and you'll both do great."

"Yeah, come on Nova! It'll be fun!", said Sage cheerfully to her twin sister.

Nova scoffed, shook her head and gave Sage a weird look as if she had never seen something like her.

"See", said Tony, gesturing to Sage. "Your sister agrees with me."

"But she agrees with everything you say and you guys always gang up on me", said Nova. "Besides, Sage never thinks before saying, she'll let slip of-"

"Why don't you want to go to school?", Bruce asked Nova, cutting her off, ever the doctor.

"I don't want anything to change", Nova shrugged.

"Nothing's going to change, Nova", Sage laughed at her sisters stupidity and stubbornness. "We're only going to school, no need to be so dramatic."

"Only going to school?", Nova repeated her sisters words in disbelief before turning back to Tony who was now doing the dishes. "Why can't you or Bruce teach us school stuff, you guys are smart. We don't need to go to school- Well, I don't", she said, eyeing her sister who was tapping her glass of orange juice for some reason.

"Considering you just called your education 'school stuff' I think you do", Tony smiled.

"Well, I refuse to go", Nova said stubbornly, crossing her arms.

"You refuse to go?", said Bruce eyebrows raised.

"Yes, I refuse to go", Nova nodded at his words.

"Well, I'm not going if your not going", said Sage, a bit disappointed about no longer attending school.

"Your going to school, both of you", said Tony sternly.

Nova sighed and slumped back in her seat, defeated. Sage copied her actions and Nova rolled her eyes before getting up.

Monday morning was an absolute nightmare thanks to Nova. Tony had to send Happy to literally drag her out of bed, by her ankles.

Meanwhile, Sage had been up and ready for her first day of school since the crack of dawn and now sat impatiently waiting to leave, her sisters screams obviously not phasing her in the slightest as she continued to eat her pancakes drowned in syrup.

Around ten minutes before they had to leave, Nova entered the kitchen grumpily and threw herself into the chair across from her sister who was looking awfully cheerful.

"Pancakes?", Tony offered Nova.

"No thanks", she grumbled a reply and Tony sighed.

"Do you want more pancakes, Sage?", he asked and Sage nodded her head vigorously making him chuckle.

"Cheer up, Nova", said Bruce as the two girls left with Happy. "Clint and Nat will be here when you get back to see how your first day went."

"Have a great day! And stick together!", Tony called after them and Sage gave him an enthusiastic wave while Nova gave him the thumbs up and a sarcastic smile before getting into the car after her sister, and slamming the door shut.
