(Third person pov)

"Okay, so the how works. Now we gotta figure out the where and when", said Steve. "Almost everyone in this room had an encounter with at least one of the six Infinity Stones-"

"Or substitute the word 'encounter' for 'damn near been killed' by one on the six Infinity Stones", Tony butted in, cutting across Steve's speech.

"He's got a point", Pietro muttered quietly to Sage who gave him a pointed look making Pietro hold his hands up in defence.

"Well, I haven't", said Scott. "But I don't even know what the hell you're all talking about."

"Well, you're about to", Sage grinned and everyones heads turned to her and her smile dropped as she gasped and her hands flew to her mouth. "I'm sorry, that was rude of me to say", she apologised, but Scott smiled and told her it was okay.

"You know, for a minute I thought Nova was back in the room", Clint smiled fondly at the memory of Nova and her pure guiltless cheek and wit. "Sounds like something she would have said."

Sage smiled sadly at Clint, she knows that he must miss her too. Their last conversation didn't exactly leave them on good terms, or talking terms for that matter.

Sage opened her mouth to say something else, perhaps something comforting to Clint, but Tony cleared his throat and interrupted their sappy bonding moment.

Can we get back onto the subject at hand here, please?", he asked looking between both Clint and Sage.

"Sorry", Sage whispered.

"Regardless, we only have enough Pym Particles for one round each, and these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history", Bruce explained. "Our history."

Sage and Pietro had decided to stay behind as there wasn't enough.

Well, more like Sage made the mistake of telling Pietro that she didn't have a good feeling about it and he panicked and got protective.

Sage wasn't happy she wasn't getting to go, but she knew Pietro had his heart in the right place and just wanted her to be safe and with him. He definitely didn't want to loose Sage anytime soon or ever.

He wouldn't be able to live without her, he wouldn't be able to survive.

"So, not a lot of convenient spots to just drop in, yeah? Which means we have to pick our targets", said Tony. "Correct."

"So let's start with the Aether", said Steve. "Thor, what do you know?"

Everyone turned to look over at Thor who was sitting in the corner of the room with a can in his hand, open trousers most likely cause they wouldn't close, sunglasses, and extremely matted and messy hair and beard.

Showing no sign of consciousness. Or life.

"Is he asleep?", Nat asked.

"No, no", said Rhodey. "I'm pretty sure he's dead."

"Uh, where to start? Um...", said Thor as he stood in front of everybody and took off his sunglasses. "The Aether firstly, is not a Stone. Someone called it a stone before", he said, looking around the room before he eventually pointed at Steve who scrunched his eyebrows together slightly. "Uhm, it's more of an angry sludge sort of thing...so someone's gonna need to amend that and stop saying that. Here's an interesting story, though, about the Aether. My grandfather, many years ago...had to hide the stone from the Dark Elves."

Everyone was swapping confused looks as Thor drowned on and on with no context whatsoever.

"Ooh", Thor chuckled. "Scary beings."
