Catching up with my parents was great and I'm ready to grab my stuff from the hotel, to stay at my parent's place.

Mom walks me to the door. "Do you want to take the car? I noticed you didn't drive here."

Shaking my head I say. "My cars at the hotel. Is there a chance that either Dad or you drive me back?"

Mom grabs the keys from the hook by the door and picks up her purse. She turns towards the kitchen and says. "Honey, I'm going to take Austin to the hotel. I'll be back in half an hour."

We walk out the door and head over to the Toyota Corolla that's parked in the driveway. She unlocks the car and we climb in.

Pulling out of the driveway we head towards the hotel. Mom and I talk about a lot of things until we pull up in front of the hotel.

She turns towards me and says. "I'll see you back at the house. Drive carefully."

Kissing her cheek, I say. "You, too. Mom, I'll be there soon." I climb out of the car and head towards the entrance of the hotel.

Before I can walk into the hotel I see a guy with a woman between his legs and she's moaning.

As I walk by them I the guy turns and it's Ronnie with his wife. "Hey, Austin. Was that your Mommy dropping you off at the hotel."

"Yeah, do you have a problem with that?"

He moves away from Nina. "No, I'm just glad you stayed away from the townie, slut. She's going to ruin everything you have."

I wish he'd stay out of business. Every time I turn my back he's there shoving his nose into my business like a lot of other people.

Grabbing his shirt I say. "Stay away from Eliza and me. Or what nearly happened at the party will be revealed to Nina."

"What party?"

"The one where you tried to rape, Eliza."

His face pales and he shoves me away. "That's a fucking lie. Who started that shit?"

"It doesn't matter who started it, but if I find out it's true I'll lay you right out. Stay away from me, Ronnie. I don't want you anywhere near us." I shove his shoulder as I walk by him.

Nina opens her mouth to say something, but she catches the glare that Ronnie is throwing her way.

She needs to get out of this toxic relationship she has with him, but I don't know how I can help.

Entering the hotel lobby there are people scattered all over the place. Checking in and out of the hotel.

Marylou one of the receptionists is out on the floor talking to people when I walk by. She waves at means says. "Hi, Austin."

Smiling at her. "Hi, Marylou. Would you be able to help me with something?"

"Sure," she finishes up with the couple she's talking to and heads over to me. "What can I do for you, Austin?"

"I'm checking out earlier than expected. I know I won't be able to get my money back, but if you know someone needing a room could you give them mine?"

A smile spreads across her face. "I'll let the boss know and we'll take it from there. Are you going to stay with your parents?"

"Yes, I am. Also, can you not tell Ronnie Abercrombie that I have checked out of the hotel. I don't want my private business to get back to him."

"I'll make sure everyone is discreet when it comes to him asking about you." She looks at my free hands and says. "When you get back from packing up your room I'll check you out."

I know that's her way of flirting with me, but I'm going to pretend that it didn't happen.

"Thanks, Marylou." I walk over to the lift and press the button. It doesn't take too long before the door opens and I step inside. Pressing the button for the presidential suite I wait for the lift to take me up to my room.

When the lift opens on the top floor I ate out and walk down the corridor to my room. I swipe the key and the door opens.

Walking into the room I start packing up my stuff and it doesn't take too long before I'm ready to leave.

My phone vibrates with a message and I pull my phone out to check it. "Calvin," flashes across the screen and a smile spreads across my face.

Calvin: Mom called me not too long ago and she said you were back in town.

Me: I am. When are you coming home?

Calvin: I'm not sure, but when I do. I want to catch up. I know we've been estranged for a while. It has everything to do with the woman you're dating. You should be careful with the company you keep.

It's not the first time I've heard him say that.

Me: I broke up with her. I'm starting to see Eliza again.

Calvin: Really?

Me: Yes, we met at the reunion last night and we've been talking a lot and I'm taking her on a date tonight.

Calvin: That's great, bro. She's the type of person I saw you with all along.

Me: I'll talk to you later I'm about to get in the car and head home, before picking Eliza up.

Sliding my phone into my pocket I grab my stuff before locking the hotel door and heading down to the lobby.

When I enter the lobby there's no one in there and Marylou is behind her desk. She smiles as I walk up to her. "Here's the key. Thanks for everything, Marylou." I walk to the concierge desk and give the key for my car and then I head outside to wait for it to be delivered to me.

It takes fives minutes before the car is pulled in front of me. The driver steps out of the car and waits for me to sit in the driver's seat before walking away from the car.

Pulling the car away from the curb I head in the direction of my parent's house. When I get to the house I climb out of the car and grab my bag from the back seat.

Walking up to the front door I open the door and say. "Mom, I'm home."

"In the kitchen, son."

Entering the kitchen I see Mom chopping vegetables and a smile is on her face. "I have to get ready for my date with, Eliza. Do you think her father will give me a talking to like he did when I was a kid?"

Mom stops chopping and she looks at me. "I wouldn't be surprised if he does that. After all, that girl has a soft spot in her father's heart. Especially, after the way she put her life on hold to help her parents out."

That's all I hear from everyone. Why does everyone keep throwing that in my face?

"I have to get ready." I run upstairs and throw my bag on the bed, before walking to the bathroom and having a shower.

After the shower, I put on a pair of Levi's and a nice shirt with black converse. "Bye, Mom." I run out the door and jump into my car.
