Monday morning I walk into my office and gather everything I need for the trial I'll be dealing with today. I take a seat behind the computer and start it up. When it asks for a password I type it in and the email screen comes up. Going through the emails I stop on one that captures my attention and it's from my brother.

Dear Austin.
Mom and Dad called me recently and told me what you did to Eliza. How could you do that to the one woman that everyone likes? She's the type of woman that deserves to be loved and shown the world. Not used as a sex toy. I hate what you've done to her, but if there's anything you need please reach out to me. I'll help you if I can. I just want you to know I'm still here.

When things blow over I'm sure Mom and Dad will be in touch with you. Just right now everything is too raw for them.

Sorry, I'm not closer to you. If I was I would take you out to get a beer and catch up. When I move back to the states I'll reach out again.

I love you, Bro.

-Calvin.

I'm glad he reached out to me, but I'm afraid that if I do reply to him I'll tell him everything. How towards the end I fell in love with Eliza, but had to hurt her because I knew that Casey would do a lot worst if I didn't come home as I promised.

Dear Calvin,
Thank you for reaching out to me. I know that I don't deserve everything that you're doing for me. There's a lot of mistakes I've made. Eliza is the hugest one and at times I wish there was a way for me to take back what I did to her, but we both know that's not going to happen.

Mom is disappointed in me. She even slapped me, but I didn't know why until recently. It turns out that she received a manila envelope with pictures of Eliza and me and there was a timeline to go with it too. It stated a dare that I came up with while I was drunk and that person wanted our parents to know.

Whoever shared critical information with our parents needs to learn a lesson. One that makes sure that they won't ever cross the line with me again.

I look forward to the day you return and I'll be the first one to accept the drinks offer on your return.

-Austin

I send the message to my brother and a smile spreads across my face.

The door to the office opens and Maxine walks into the room. She has a piece of paper in her hands. "These are the times for meeting and the trial. The one that you're supposed to..."

"Shit," I cut her off. "I'm supposed to be at the courthouse now? Why didn't anyone tell me the time changed? That's why Charlotte was acting the way she was. She knew if I was late she'd be able to delay the trial."

And if that happens I'll be in trouble. The case won't be easily won, because of that. How am I supposed to get to the courthouse with all the traffic on the road?

Clara. She'll be able to help me.

Running through the building I head straight to her office and knock on the door. She swings it open and looks at me. "Austin, you're supposed to be in court. Why are you still here?"

"I didn't know the time was changed. Is there any way you'll be able to help me get over there?"

A smile spreads across her face and she takes a step towards me. "Of course there's a way for me to get you there. However, you're going to owe me lunch when you get back from court today."

Holding my hand out to her I say. "Deal." She places her hand in mine and we make the deal.

It's not the first time I've had to take a woman out from the office and it won't be the last time.

She picks up her phone and puts the call on loudspeaker for me to hear.

Clara: Hey, Frank. I need you to prepare the chopper urgently.

Frank: Okay, it's about to start. Come to me and I'll be able to take off when you get here. Where are we going?

Clara: The courthouse. I'll be there shortly.

Clara hangs up the phone and she turns towards me. "Follow me." she grabs a pair of keys out of the top drawer in her desk and then leads the way through some door to the top floor where the office building has its heliport.

Wow, this is incredible. I didn't know we had one of these until now.

On the heliport, Clara climbs into the chopper and puts on the headgear. She waves me onto it and then tells me to put the helmet on. Taking it from her outstretched hands I put the helmet on and speak through it. "How long until we get to the courthouse?"

"Three minutes, there's no traffic waiting for us and no inbound choppers are supposed to land at the heliport in the next couple of hours."

"I hope you don't mind me tagging along," Clara asks.

"No, that's not a problem."

The doors to the helicopter close and it takes off, heading towards the courthouse.

At the courthouse, the helicopter lands and I pull the helmet off and thank Clara for getting me here in time for the trial. I move toward the door and before I can enter the security team are onto me. Checking my stuff and me before allowing me to enter the building.

Running down the stairs I try to find the courtroom that my case is being trailed. When I find it I open the doors and enter the room calmly.

The judge stops talking and looks at me. "Who are you? And why are you late into my courtroom?"

"Sorry, Sir." I approach the stand and say. "I'm Austin Wilde. Mr Muldoon's legal team. I'm late because I had to use the restroom. I had bad tacos for dinner last night. The Mrs couldn't cook them."

People in the room start laughing, including the judge. He hits the bat on the desk and says. "We have a comedian in our midst. Take a seat and we'll begin the trial."

Taking a seat next to my client I whisper. "This case is in the bag. You'll be in the arms of that beautiful woman you have at home in no time."

A woman with blonde hair and light brown eyes sits on the stand. She's wearing a pants suit that makes her look sophisticated. She crosses her arms and looks out towards the full courtroom. "I swear that the evidence that I shall give shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me god."

After the oath, I cross-examine the witness and watch as she faulters with the questions I have to ask. She stumbles over stuff and then BAM, she lied about something and the whole case crumbles, letting my client back on the street before the afternoon has finished.
