Chapter thirty eight

"You didn't leave anything did you?" I shake my head and looks over to Hyunjae and Amy who was taking out our luggage from the back trunk. "Did you guys leave anything behind?" They both shake their heads and I smile, "We are good to go dad." Dad nods and he walked us to the gate. Once we got our tickets, we meet dad up. I could tell he was actually holding back his tears.

"Dad, I'm not gonna be gone forever you know," Dad smiles and strokes my hair, "I know, it's just that, being away from you makes me sad,"

"It's okay sir! We will come back here eveytime we are on a break! Besides, I will definitely love to come back here!" Dad ruffles Amy's hair and laughed at her enthusiasm. "Alright go in there kiddos, call me when you land," I nod and gave dad one final hug and part away with me. Finally all the things here and done. I can go home in peace and rest up.

"So, since he is clearly not gonna ask," I look at Hyunjae, confused and then back to Amy, "Things have settled down here, what's gonna happen once we reached Korea?"

"Hopefully things there has died down too."

"And what if it hasn't? What are you gonna do about it? Heck, what is all of us gonna do about it? Hyunjae is gonna be with you die or ride same goes to me and Ellie and your sister and your brother." I bit the insides of my mouth as I stare intensely at the marbled floor. I never thought about the things that will happen in Korea. My mind was set on one thing that finished what I created here and ends it here. No more running away.

"Then we will go through it together, no more running away," Hyunjae pulled me and Amy into a side hug and sigh. "To be very honest, you guys are the best thing that has happened to me. But thank you for sticking with me throughout this whole mess,"

"Pen, you know I always got your back." I saw the sign for our flight changed to now boarding so we made our way to the gate. Once seated, I once again, took the seat in the middle with Amy at the window seat and Hyunjae at the end. It was a pretty late flight so we asked for a blanket to use throughout the whole flight as it might get cold. I looked around to see if anybody is going to be sitting behind us. "I don't think there is anyone gonna sit behind us, so we can bring our seat down,"

We slowly bring our seat down and cover ourselves with the blankets over our shoulders. Hyunjae did the same and brought the armchair that was in between us, up so that he could cuddle.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard Flight 4B7 with service from Los Angeles to Korea. We are currently third in line for take-off and are expected to be in the air in approximately seven minutes time. We ask that you please fasten your seatbelts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Smoking is prohibited for the duration of the flight. Thank you for choosing Mountain Airlines. Enjoy your flight."

Amy was long gone because I could hear her snoring beside me. I look up to Hyunjae and placed half of the blanket over him as I could see he was shivering. "Do you regret getting to know me?" I asked out of the blue, I could see his body tensed up and look down at me with a smile.

"Well, not really. Sunwoo wouldn't stop talking to me about his excitement that his sister is coming over to stay with him. Little did I know, his sister was hot. I thought when I teased you and joke around with you, I wouldn't catch feelings," I nod, giving my fullest attention to him. "But guess what? I did catch feelings for you and every day I push away that feeling but it kept growing."

"It kept growing and growing and this wasn't normal for me cause I always do one-night stand and I'm like okay this is not normal. I was starting to fall in love with you. I even vowed myself that I will do whatever it takes to make you mine and when I did, I wanna protect you. I wanna be with you, I wanna do things with you together. I wanna conquer the world with you. Which explains why I had the sudden change in me and it freaked you out,"

I giggle and nod, "It did thou. I wasn't used to it," Hyunjae nods and leans back to his chair and stroke my hair. He sighs and smiles at the mini television that was built into every chair in the plane. "Penny, we should sleep, it's gonna be a long flight," I nod again and snuggle deeper into his embrace and fall asleep.

I flutter my eyes open as I felt the warm sun rays settling down on my face. "Morning," I rub my eyes and bowed at Amy who was looking out at the window. "We reached Korea already." I look out the window and smile. Home, I am finally home. I wake Hyunjae up and told him we have reached Korea and he nods.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Incheon Airport. Local time is 8:30 am and the temperature is 11°C. For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened until the Captain turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign. This will indicate that we have parked at the gate and that it is safe for you to move about. If you require deplaning assistance, please remain in your seat until all other passengers have deplaned. One of our crew members will then be pleased to assist you. On behalf of Mountain Airlines and the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Welcome to Korea and to those residence, Welcome Home."

The three of us made our way out of the plane and to the conveyer belt to collect our luggage. I already see the figure of Elaine and Sunwoo, searching for us. Once we have collected our luggage, we make our way towards them and gave them a huge hug each. We then make our way to the carpark to see my mum waiting in the car, smiling towards us. She comes out of the car and gave me a warm hug.

"Is everythin okay now?" I nod and smile. "Mum, Dad is doing fine. He is looking healthy, he stopped drinking after you divorced him. Thou, it still hurt him but I could tell he has been spending his time with his family. Also, maybe one day we could invite him over and let him stay with us for a couple of days," Mum smiles and tucks in a strand of hair behind my ears and smile. "I would love that," She helped us to put our luaggage in the trunk and start the car. Amy and the rest have board the car and Hyunjae helped to close it.

"You know," I hum in reply looking at him shut the trunk tight.

"Maybe after we graduate, let's get married and start a family." I raised my brows and look at him. Did I heard him right? Married? Family? With him? "You sure? You wouldn't want any other girls to marry you?"

"Yeah, you. I want just you to be my wife and the mother of my children. So what do you say?" I look around, thinking for a while. I mean, yes I could see my future with him and the both of us aren't getting any younger too.

Plus, I see how he handle kids back at the childcare center we volunteer. He is great with kids so I don't see why not.

"I would love that," He smiles and give me a long kiss on the lips before pulling away to say, "I love you, Penny,"

I smile and hug him, "I love you more"
