Chapter twenty three

As always, my alarm clock woke me up to get ready for another long day at the daycare centre. Amy will meet us straight there and so does Sangyeon. I quickly freshen up and decided to tie my hair in a bun and put on another oversized shirt with leggings. No makeup for today, okay maybe just draw my brows and I'll be fine. I grab a banana, took my keys, my jacket and put on my shoes. "See you later Elaine!"

"Yeah! See you!" I quickly put on my jacket and walk outside to meet up with Hyunjae. "Hyunjae!" He turns around and smiles. Gosh, his hair is so messy today! Kinda like it thou. He leans down and gives me a quick peck on the lips and hold my hand. "Day 3 of 'dating' 2 more outings and we will be officially a couple, how exciting," He jumps like a little girl and I laugh at him while taking a bite of my banana. I gave some to him because I know he probably hasn't eaten anything yet. So he takes a bite of the banana and hums. Hyunjae swings our hands back and forth and just like that we reached the train station.

He spins me around and places his hands on my waist and I put my arms on his shoulders and pull in for a hug. He rested his head on top of mine and oh my, his body heat is so warm, I like it. I then look up to him and smile, "You look handsome today," Hyunjae's cheeks became red and he broke eye contact to look at somewhere else. "Y-y-you look pretty today too," I chuckled and heard the train approaching so we pulled away and board the train.

When we reached the daycare centre, Amy and Sangyeon were there. They wave at us. All four of us walked in to let ourselves settle in. The teachers said most of the kids were here so I went into the room and saw Henry, Jakey and the two girls all at the corner playing together. Minjun looked up and saw us approaching and I kneel down to give him a hug. "Penny! You're back!" He gives me sloppy kisses all over my face and I laugh. We then did our nose rubs and I give him a kiss on the cheeks.

"Of course, I'm back. I wanna see my favourite kids!"Ara came to me and sniffles, "Am-am I your favourite kid," I nod and gave her a hug and Sunhee came and give me a kiss on the lips. Sunhee then adjusted her position and sit in my laps. Amy and Sangyeon know absolutely nothing when it comes to babysitting so I told them to talk to them or play with them and they did.

Wonshik back hugged me and ask for cuddles. I give him a side hug and kiss his cheeks. "How are you Wonshik? Do you miss me?" Wonshik nods. "Alright! Who is ready for Sports Day!"

"Me!" The kids were jumping around and screaming. "Okay! Let's go outside and compete!" Wonshik pulls my shirt and raises his arm. I then carry him and took him outside. The teacher told me that Wonshik is not feeling well and that I am in charge of looking after him. He wraps his tiny arms around my neck, clearly not interested in the sports day event. Hyunjae came and pass him banana milk. Wonshik took it and starts sipping on it.

"Is he not heavy for you?" I shake my head and stare at him, "What are you tryna say? I'm weak or is Wonshik-" Hyunjae put his hands up in the air, surrendering and then went on to place his arms around my waist.

The kids were playing and competing against each other which was quite adorable to watch. Wonshik had fallen asleep in Hyunjae's arms because he decided to Hyunjae is more comfortable since Hyunjae is a little muscular. Amy and Sangyeon were enjoying themselves and cheering for the kids. A few of them liked them already and were hanging out with them. Eric and Elaine were inside with the younger kids and playing with them. Next up was running and Minjun was participating it together with Sunhee! "On your marks, get set, go!"

Both Minjun and Sunhee both sprinted and earned first and second place. I jump up and down cheering for them and they came running to me. "Penny! Penny! Look! We won!" They gave me a hug and kisses me on the cheeks. I ruffle their hair and they stood beside me. Another event was 'How could spin the hula hoop the longest'. My girl Ara was participating in it. She looks nervous but once she heard both Minjun and Sunhee cheering for her, she smiles and gained back her confidence.

They all started spinning and then one by one, everyone's hula hoop starts to drop leaving Ara with another girl. It was a close competition but in the end, Ara won and the kids including me cheered for her. Poor Hyunjae had to just watch and not shout or scream because he wouldn't want to wake Wonshik up. "I did it!" I nod and gave her a hug. Amy came to me with a sleeping boy in her arms and I raised my brows pointing to the kid that is in her arms. "Oh, this is Kangdae. He was drinking milk when I carried him, he must have fallen asleep afterwards,"

Amy then turns her direction to Hyunjae and saw him carrying Wonshik while swaying from side to side. "He looks like a dad there," I nod. Sunhee pulled my shirt and kept saying up, up. So I carried her and talked more with Amy.

"Sangyeon thou. Look at how many kids is with him."

"Yeah. They like him cause he is handsome." Sunhee look over to Amy and smile, "I like you and Penny cause you guys are pretty!" Amy pinches Sunhee's cheeks and boop her nose. She chuckles and nuzzles her way through my neck. Amy laugh and we turn our focus on the sports event. Everyone was already tired so we brought them. They were all sticky and sweaty so they needed a bath. Each of us was assigned to four kids per total since there are about 20 kids here.

Hyunjae and I were randomly assigned and we got our four kiddos. Minjun, Wonshik, Ara and Sunhee. "I'll bathe the girls while you bathe the boys," Hyunjae nods and the both of us went and bathe them.

I put on their clothes, did their hair and the teachers told us to rest because we did enough. Eric and Elaine came to help too. I sigh and prepare the kids to nap. I helped layout the mattresses and pillows and tucked Ara and Sunhee to sleep. Hyunjae did the same to Minjun and Wonshik. We sighed and leans our back against the wall. I stretch out my legs because my legs were cramping and Hyunjae rests his head on my thighs. "Look, an accomplishment today, I didn't kiss you at all,"

"But you want to. Your face says everything." Hyunjae smiles and plays with my hair. I leaned in and kiss his forehead. Amy and Sangyeon then joined us and took an empty spot beside me. Amy yawns and so did Sangyeon. Sangyeon ended up sleeping on Amy's thighs and I slept on Amy's shoulders and she rested her head on mine.

The same wake-up song was used as yesterday and I groan. "Ah, leg cramp. Hyunjae get off!" He turns his body, mumbles a few words and then adjusted his sleeping position. I then squish his cheeks hard, "Ow, ow, ow! Okay, I'm up, jeez. I know I'm squishy!"

Amy and Sangyeon were still asleep and I didn't want to wake them up. I look over to the kids and saw Minjun already sitting up straight. I walk over to Minjun and gave him a hug within seconds, I felt the back of my shirt becoming wetter. I stand up and pat his back to soothe him. His crying got louder so I went outside to calm him down. Minjun kept calling his mother and all I could do was just soothe him. "Baby, what's wrong baby? Don't cry now baby, Penny is here,"

Minjun then starts to relax and eventually he stops crying. I rubs his back and sang him a lullaby for him to relax. It worked. And then he went ahead and sleep. I turn around and saw Hyunjae walking towards me. "Everything okay sweetheart?" I nod and Hyunjae gave me a quick kiss on the cheeks. "You're doing well love!" I blushed and rolls my eyes. Right, I have to ask Elaine to hang out today. So I went over to the other room with Minjun in my arms to meet up with Elaine.

I walk over to her as soon as I saw her from the distance. "Oh, wow, you got him to sleep, what's up?"

"Are you free to hang out with me and Sunwoo? It's been long since we last hang out together," Elaine looks over at Eric, who heard everything. "Why are you looking at me? You know the rules, family and friends you can hang out with them all the time."
