Chapter nine

"Are you done studying my face? I know I'm handsome," I wriggle my way out and cross my arms, "Please, I have seen handsome people and you're not on the list," Hyunjae scoffs and rolls his eyes. He turns around and waves goodbye. He sure is a man with a mysterious personality. I close the gate and locked it before heading back into the house.

"Psh, he sure does have high confidence!" I roll my eyes and head back into my room to check up on Elaine. "Hey, you okay?" Elaine nods and sighs. I take a seat beside her and pull her into a side hug. Once she got comfortable, she started crying like crazy. My eyes widen cause I don't really know what to do in this type of situations as I don't really have a younger sibling, specifically, a younger sister so all of this is still new to me.

"I'm sorry," She looks up to me and wipes her tears before giving me a confusing look. "Why are you sorry for? It's not like you did anything wrong,"

"Still! I shouldn't leave you alone knowing how bitchy grandma could be." Elaine shrugs and hugs me even tighter. I stroke her hair and sigh. If I'm gonna be with her for the rest of my life, I need to know how to be there for her since we both are pretty much new at this having an older/younger sister.

"Hey, why don't you wash your face. Let's go out and have fun!" Her face lights up and nods, "Can we bring Kevin along?"

"Kevin? There is a lot of Kevin be specific," Elaine laughs and shakes her head, "Kevin! The boy that works at the bakery store down the street! It's been long since I met him!" Oh right, that Kevin. "Sure! Why not?" Elaine jumps up and heads to the bathroom to wash herself up. Hyunjae. His eyes are pretty, his nose is pretty too! Not to mention how high his nose is and it fits his- hold on, wait a minute, why am I thinking of him?

"I am all done! I'll call Kevin and tell him to meet us at the mall!" I nod and the both of us make our way out of the house after saying our goodbyes to Grandpa and Grandma. "Wait! I am coming along!" Elaine and I laughed and told Sunwoo to hurry. This is the first time I'm riding the bus to the mall and as always Seoul is very pretty! The buildings are all very tall and modern looking and the architecture is very unique too. It's the weekend so the bus is pretty much packed with teens and young adults. "So guys are there any specific things you guys are going to buy?"

"Yeah, I'm gonna buy my art supplies which is why I brought Kevin along. What about you Sunwoo?" Sunwoo shrugs, "Probably gonna take a look around the music store or something, how about you Pen?"

"Not sure, let's buy something for mum and dad when they come home," They nod and in a few minutes time, we reached the mall and saw Kevin waiting for us at the bus stop that we alighted from. He waves at us and we walk towards him. "Hey, guys! Oh hey Sunwoo! You came," Sunwoo nods and walks away. Hm, bad mood much? I mean probably it's best for him to come with us rather than staying at home with Grandma and fight again. And who knows what are they gonna fight again at home? The mall is huge! The floors and walls are made out of marble so it looks sparkling clean. I stand in awe and scan every store that I walk past.

"Okay girl, you don't have to walk with your mouth open," I close my mouth as soon as I heard Kevin said that. Well, that was embarrassing. "Let's go to the art store!" We nod and follow Elaine, she most probably knows the mall better than Kevin and Sunwoo. Once we reached the art store, we went our separate ways, I went to the watercolours section, Sunwoo went to who knows where. I don't think he is very fond of arts and crafts. Or maybe I am wrong and he secretly likes it. "Oh, guess fate does want us together, how very nice to see you again." Great, I know that voice. I know that voice so so so well that I get so furious just by hearing his name. I turn around and gave the fakest smile I could ever.

"Hi, what brings you here, Hyunjae?" He smiles and ruffles my hair, everyone in the store gave heart eyes. They probably thought we are a couple! This ass probably wants people to know about it! God, I hate him. "I couldn't find you babe," Babe?? What the hell? He leans in and whispers in my ears, "Play along, my ex is there," I turn to the right and saw a girl glaring intensely at us. I gulped and touch his cheeks, his cheeks are soft. I heard the girl scoffs and walks away and that's where I pushed Hyunjae away.

"Don't touch me again," Hyunjae furrowed his brows and shakes his head. "Excuse you, I'm not the one who goes around touching other people's cheeks." "Fair point, what are you doing here actually?"

He points to the watercolours behind me and I move to the side and he picks out the watercolours that he wants to buy. As I was leaving, he grabs me by the wrist and asked me to pick the best watercolour to buy for his friend. "You should Kevin, he is here with us," "Of course I would ask Kevin but he is kinda busy with your sister," My eyes widen and I walk out to see Kevin and Elaine laughing so heartily with Sunwoo. Did they buy everything already? How long was I in the store? Hyunjae clears his throat and asks me to follow him to the cashier. After paying for the watercolour, we walk out of the store. "Oh, Hyunjae! I didn't see you enter the shop just now, you came alone?"

"Yeah, I went in like right after you guys, cause she was there," Kevin and Sunwoo share the same look and they nod. We bid our goodbyes and went into the music store next door. Sunwoo decided to buy a guitar since he is always in his room and doing nothing so he decided to buy a guitar to kill time. After paying for the guitar, we head home. "Thanks, Kevin for accompanying us to the mall!" Kevin smiles and nods and we bid goodbyes. The bus ride home was super quiet and long.  

I couldn't find you, babe. What was he thinking? No, why am I thinking of what he just said? This is so weird! God, I can't be falling for him no can I? What if I am? Oh shit, I can't. But someone as handsome as he is, who couldn't possibly reject? No, I can't fall for him.
