Chapter fourteen

"Oh, I thought you were running from your psychotic lover or something or a bad ex. I won't ask anymore if it's something personal," Changmin smiles and I scoff, "Please if I was really running away from a psychotic lover, I rather die,"

Changmin laughs and agree. We talked for like nearly throughout the whole lesson mainly because everyone was still struggling with dissecting the frog. Just as I was about to ask Changmin a question, the school bell rang and it was finally time for lunch. I met up with the girls and went straight to the cafeteria bought our food and went outside to sit at one of the umbrella tables. Elaine came running to us and was panting like crazy. "Pen- she-" Amy furrowed her brows and leans in. "She what?! Who you talking about!?"

"She-she-" Amy grabs Elaine by her collar, "Who the freaking here is she!? Spit it out!"

"Serenity, she is here," Hyunjae and his friends walk up to us and surround us, I pull Amy away from Elaine and ask Elaine to sit beside me. "What the heck she wants now?" Hyunjae shrugs and points towards the car park. Our eyes trail and saw Serenity making out with some guy in school and staring intensely at us. "I will kill her, right here, right now,"

"Sit your fat ass down Amy, maybe she is here for her boyfriend and nothing else," I instructed Amy which she gladly obeyed. Not gonna lie, I am kinda terrified that Serenity is here in the school grounds. I mean I have Hyunjae and his friends to 'protect' us and that includes Sunwoo. "Hello? Earth to Penny? That's already the fourth time or maybe fifth that you stare at me, I know I'm hot sweetheart," My eyes widen and I look away. I didn't even realise that I was staring at Hyunjae while I was thinking to myself. My face started burning up and I ate my food. Hyunjae laughs and ruffles my hair, again, my face must have been burning to a thousand degrees now.

"Dude! Come on now, no flirting and why are you even at our table?" Hyunjae shrugs and lays his head on the table. Amy turns to Younghoon, "There weren't any available seats. So we saw you guys and followed you,"

"Hyunjae just wants to be with Penny, which is why he followed us, come on don't be shy and confess," Hyunjae stares at Amy and sticks his tongue out. He then turns his head to face me. I accidentally made eye contact with him and quickly looks away. He smiles and again, he ruffles my hair. I think my heart just went beating a thousand kilometres per hour, no not even an hour, it's per second! "You're adorable when you blush," He smiles and I nod. For real, he really does looks perfect any guy like him doesn't exist and that goes for Younghoon or any of his guy friends!

"Can I hold your hand?"

"For?"

"Just want to know how your hand feels like." Hyunjae grabs my hand and intertwined it, bring it to his face and snuggles with it. Everyone on the table looks at us and I just shrugged. Elaine leans in to whisper, "He must really like you, he is usually not that affectionate to other girls you know." I shake my head. There is no way he likes me, all those teasing and all, doesn't mean he likes me. I only see him as a friend..... or do I?

"No way, I only see him as a friend." Elaine sits up straight and scoffs, "That's what they always say Pen, I only see him as a friend. You like him as a friend, for now," Elaine smiles. Lunchtime went by quick and it was already another lesson of practical, chemistry. I don't hate this subject but I have to because the lab where I want to work has enquired that I need to have Chemistry and Biology. I quickly sat up my table and saw Hyunjae walking in this class. Wait!? He takes Chemistry too? Please don't tell me he is going to sit beside me.

I looked away hoping he will not sit beside me. But it ended up being hopeless because I heard the bar stool being dragged and look at him taking the seat beside me. I sigh and open my textbooks. Our table was more like a bench? It's a long bench that has two spaces on each end that could fit only two people each so all together it has four people in that long benches. "Hi, class. Another long practical lesson today but I promise you once we have reached our agenda for today, I will release you guys early. I'm tired too. So anyway, let's start with our lesson shall we?"

Today's Chemistry practical was to do this experiment called Hydrogen Peroxide with Potassium Iodide or which most of the other people would call it 'The Cotton Candy' experiment. The setup is quite simple. Hydrogen peroxide is mixed with dish soap, and food colouring is often added for a dramatic effect. I and Hyunjae decided to go for Yellow. We got our pieces of equipment all laid out nice and neat and we followed all the procedures that are written on the board. "Okay, let's do this," I pass Hyunjae one of the safety goggles and I'm not gonna lie, he looks adorable.

"So I just add this powder ish substance in?" I nod, "Can't you read?" Hyunjae rolls his eyes, "I am just double confirming," He added in quick and we step back causing the thing to explode. We accidentally hold hands when stepping back and I only realised when we look at each other and smile. "That was cool," And no, we didn't pull back. I kinda like it holding hands with him. He pulled me in and places his arms around my shoulders. "Should we do it again?" Our teacher claps her hands to gain our attention.

"Please do not do any more than once. After doing the experiment, clean your table up with the cleaning equipment provided and grab this worksheet and write down the answers that I have written on the board," I let go of his hand and started cleaning the place up. After doing so, we wrote the answer and pass our worksheet to our teacher. "Class, once you hand in your worksheet, I'll check your table to see if it's clean. After that you may leave," She came by our desk to see if it's alright, she gave us a thumbs up and told us we could leave.

"Hey, you wanna hang out?"

"Um,"

"It's not a date. It's a get to know each other kinda outing. It'll be fun, I promise," I scratch the back of my head and nod. "Let me go see my grandmother and then I'll meet you at in front." Hyunjae nods and I quickly ran to the principal's office. I went in and saw Grandma with Grandpa. "Hey grandma, can I hang out with my friend after school? I ended classes early so can I?"

"Sure, don't be late to be at the airport," I nod and run to the front gate where Hyunjae is waiting for me. "I have to be at the airports before 5 pm my parents are coming home."

"Oh, then can I follow?" I nod and smile, "So where are we going?" Hyunjae rubs his chin and then intertwined my hands. My face started burning up and I look down while walking with my hand intertwined. He really does know how to make my heart race. Oh, keep it together Pen, he probably does this to his previous girlfriend too. You aren't the first and you won't be the last. Dammit, reality. You always have to kick in fast. We board the bus and sit all the way at the back. I plugged in my phone to listen to music when Hyunjae grabs the left side for him to listen too. I didn't even realise when a little girl was staring at us.

"Wow! You're so pretty! And you're so handsome! Are you guys married?" My eyes widen and I look at Hyunjae who was smiling from ear to ear. Of course, he would be happy to hear that he is handsome. "Married no? We are just friends kiddo."

"Friends? Mummy says when a guy and girl become friends, they always end up loving each other and get married! That's what happened to mummy and daddy!" Hyunjae smiles and ruffles the little girl's hair. Both of them talked throughout the whole bus ride until they had to stop because the little girl reached her destination. She gave us one final wave before dropping off with her mother. Hyunjae yawns and landed his head on my shoulders. "Hyunjae! I don't even know where are we going! Don't you dare sleep!" He yawns again, "Airport, right? This bus goes straight to the airport. There is this cool place at the airport,"

I sigh and look over to see Hyunjae sleeping peacefully on my shoulders still holding onto my hand. I smile and pat his head and put my head on top of his. I wouldn't want to sleep so I ended up taking a photo of us. It wasn't that long when we reached the airport. "Hyunjae, wake up, we are reaching already," He yawns and stretches himself. He turns to look at me and smile. His messy hair makes him so adorable. Oh god no, please don't catch feelings. We got down the bus and walk into this sphere shape building. The place was packed with people, most are here for shopping or get food.

What was such an eye-opening was the 'Enchanted forest' in the middle of the mall! It was filled with light fog and there was water streaming down in the middle of it. I couldn't help but run towards it and find a place to sit to enjoy the scenery. Hyunjae takes a seat beside me and put his hands behind him to give him support. "Pretty isn't it?" I nod.

"Yeah pretty like you,"
