Chapter seven

"NO!"

"What do you mean no?"

Nakakunot noo nitong tanong,halata ang iritasyon sa mga titig nito sa akin.

Masyadong mabilis ang lahat,one day I'm on my own,then I met him,left him,came George,live without him and now he wants me back? Why? 

"I mean,why?"

He look at me like I just asked the most stupid question in the world.

"Because I still want you the way you want me too,don't deny the obvious Lei"

Want? Yeah right! He always want me since we first met. But he is wrong,I don't wan't him at all because  I love him from then until now.

"But..."

"But what? Is there something that is bothering you? Perhaps someone?"

I shook my head,as an answer,his irritation is getting on him.

Maka someone akala mo naman pinagtaksilan,eh siya naman itong nagtaksil sa aming relasyon noon.

Kung nalaman ko lang noon na buntis na ako kay George bago siya iwan hindi ko sana siya iiwan,ilalaban ko ang karapatan ng anak ko kahit pa hindi niya ako mahal at kahit hindi pa niya matanggap na magkakaanak na kami noon.

Pero iba na ngayon ang sitwasyon,I left him for a reason,yes,I still love him and I love to be with him. But will he able to take me back if he found out about George?

I don't want to bring myself  imagining him disowning his own flesh and blood. George is fond of him though he haven't seen his father personally yet, he used to look at his photos and video interviews lately(thanks to Diane). 

I can imagine George's reactions if he meet his dadda. He will be smiling widely,giggling and will eager to be next to his dadda.

"Lei! Answer me,stop that habit,it irritate the hell out of me"

Sinigawan niya ako na naging dahilan ng pagkagulat ko. Hindi ko napansin na nakatulala lang pala ako sa kanyang mukha. 

"What?"

I asked.

He let out a deep sigh.

"I said stop that habbit because it irritate me"

Ano na naman ba ang problema niya? Wala naman akong ginagawa,nakaupo na nga lang ako dito sa harapan niya.

"What habbit? I don't even move or talk,what is it with you?"

"You! You keeping me hanging then suddenly you will throw a bomb that will break me into pieces"

Hindi ko narinig ang huling sinabi niya,parang siyang nanghina sa huling mga salita na binitawan

niya. 

"A what? I don't get it"

Naguguluhan kong sabi.

"Forget it,there is no other reason,I want you back, think about what I said,I will give you time to think,what we had before is something that we cannot just turned our back,you know what I mean"

Umalis siya sa aking harapan matapos iyong sabihin. He face the glass wall,looking outside,I know he is thinking. He was standing there for a few seconds before he turned around to face me with his neutral face again but when I try to catch his eyes,he immediately look away at my gazing eyes,but I had a glimpse of a longing in his eyes.

I didn't entertain the possibility that it could be longing for me,I just ignored that thought.

"You may start to work now" sabay talikod nito "don't forget not to eat again,you know how I hate it" pahabol pa nito.

Lumabas ako sa opisina niya ng nagugukuhan,hawak pa rin ang invitation letter at Amex card na ibinigay niya kanina lang.

Kailangan ko munang makausap si Ms.Belle at masigurado na may mag aalaga sa kanya sa gabing iyon. Kung andito lang siguro sina kuya ay hindi ako mangangamba pa sa pwedeng mangyari kay George.

Hindi pa man ako nakakaupo sa aking upuan ay nagring na agad ang aking mobile phone. Dali dali ko iyong kinuha at sinagot ang tawag.

"Hello?"

"Elizabeth? Is that you?" Sabi sa kabilang linya na nabosesan ko na si Ms.Belle "Yes Ms.Belle,it's Elizabeth" I look around to check if someone is around,ayokong marinig ni Geoffrey ang paguusap namin ni Ms.Belle. Nang matiyak ng wala ito sa paligid ay ipinagpatuloy na niya ang pakikipagusap sa tagapag alaga ng anak.

"Oh thanks god! I have been calling you for four times already but you are not answering your phone,I'm starting to panic"

Kinabahan naman ako sa sinabi nito at biglang pumasok sa isipan ang kalagayan ng anak.

"Is there something wrong with George,Ms.Belle" kinakabahan kong tanong sa kanya "No,no,no,he is fine,don't worry about him" nakahinga ako ng maluwag sa sinabi nito.

"Sorry if I make you worry,I was trying to reach you because I had an emergency call from my sister who live downtown,I need to see her but I can't leave George  or take him with me to the hospital,I hope you understand Elizabeth"

Nahabag naman ako sa matandang nagaalaga sa anak ko,mag isa nalang ang kapatid nitong nakatira sa downtown,silang dalawa nalang ang nagdadamayan pag ganitong sinusumpong ng sakit ang kapatid nito.

I have no choice.

"Yes of course,Ms.Belle,I understand,will you be back tonight? I just want to know,so I can plan some arrangement to babysit for George"

"Don't worry Elizabeth I will be taking care of your little George tomorrow,I will be back tonight after I settled my sister"

Thanks god! I don't have to deal with hiring a babysitter for my son.

"Okay Ms.Belle,thank you! You are an angel,I will pray for your sister's fast recovery and your safety as well,just send me a message if you are already on the way so I can meet you up in the lobby"

After the call ended I suddenly pick up my organizer to check on his appoinment for today. Not much today,he will be around after his lunch meeting with the board members. I still have no idea how to work out the situation. If George see him it will be a big problem,oh dear god! What am I going to do?
