Chapter fifteen

"I didn't raised you to act like that Elizabeth,where's your manners?"

Kapapasok lang namin sa apartment ay pinagsasabihan na ako ni mama sa pagtrato na ginawa ko kay Geoffrey sa kanyang sasakyan kanina. Si mama na din ang humingi ng paumanhin dito at nagpasalamat sa pagtulong nito sa amin.

I put George in our room,dahil nakatulog na ito bago pa man kami makarating sa apartment. Nakaupo kami ni mama sa living room dahil gusto niya akong kausapin.

"Ma,he deserved it,he's an asshole..."

"Your language Elizabeth!"

Tumahimik na lang ako,sigurado ako na pagagalitan lang naman niya ako sa mga bagay na hindi ko dapat ginagawa.

"Sorry ma!"

"He's a descent man,I like him" I shot her a glanced "not because he's rich,we have what he have,I like him for you,he's good for you and your son,they deserve each other,don't you think Elizabeth?"

Gulat na napatingin ako kay mama dahil sa sinabi niya.

"Don't be so surprise honey,tanga nalang ang hindi makakakilala na mag ama ang dalawa sa unang tingin pa lang and I don't understand why he doesn't know that George is his son,what is going on Elizabeth?"

I kept quiet,I know she's still analising everything in her mind. She's serious now that she speak her native language.

"Is he the reason why you suddenly decided to leave everything you worked for?"

Tumango lang ako.

"Bakit hindi mo ipinaalam na nagkaroon kayo ng anak? Don't be unfair to him specially to George,Diane mentioned that George knew his father,don't you think it's unfair? When are you gonna tell him?"

Diane! You always surprised me,when will I learned that you're an evil little witch.

"I did try to tell him early this week,but he accused me of infidelity and asked me who fathered my son,my blood boiled at him,we ended up arguing and hating each other that's why I treated him like that"

Napatakip ng bibig si mama sa mga sinabi ko. Hindi niya siguro inaasahan ang kinalabasan ng nangyari sa buhay ko ngayon.

"I think he is shocked anak,give him sometimes,he deserve it,I had a little talked with him on the way to the parking,he care for you so much,and the way he looked at you I know what that means"

Ngumisi si mama? Oh no! This means hell for me.

"Ma,don't play cupid on us,it won't work"

"It's just in your mind honey,so tell me everything,how you two met? Etc. Come on enlighten your old woman here"

I smiled at her still the same old mom I knew.

So I decided to tell her everything how I met Geoffrey,our short lived romance,why I left him,the unexpected pregnancy and lastly how we met again and the confrontation.

"God gracious! I came here to surprise you,see my grandchild and spend some quality time with my children pero ako ang nasurpresa sa mga nalaman ko ngayong araw"

She sigh and leaned backward,she closed her eyes,that's when I realise that she is tired from a long trip,she looks exhausted and it hurt me seeing her like that.

I moved closer to her and I hugged her tight,I missed her so much. I felt her arms around me,she hugged me back.

"I missed you mama,I'm sorry!"

"It's okay honey,I know you have been through a lot,it's not easy but you made it and that's makes me proud of you,you deserve everything in the world can offer but you turned your back and choose to live a simple life with your son"

I hugged her tighter,ever since I can remember she's always there to lift me up when I'm down,she makes me laugh when I'm sad,looked after me when I'm sick and love me unconditionally.

I can't help my tears to stop falling,it's a touching feelings.

"But this time I want you to be happy,I want to see the old Elizabeth I knew,the fun loving daughter I once have,you deserve it honey and I will make that happen"

We were hugging for a moment,no one is talking just feelings.

A rang of mom's phone distracted us off our moment. She answered it,I stood up and went to check George. He is still sleeping so peacefully,like an angel from above.

I checked around the room to see if I got everything I needed for the weekend. Grab two bags that I already packed last night and bring them outside next to mom's traveling bag on the entrance door.

It took her another five minutes to checked the whole apartment the windows,doors,plugs,suckets and the alarm.

When she checked on George ,he is already awake and playing with his toys in the bed. She pick him up to change his diaper and clothes.

"Mama...going?"

Nginitian ko siya.

"Yes baby,we are going to see uncle Shawn and aunt Diane and lola is coming with us,sounds good isn't it?"

"La...la....."

"Ohhh,,,,yes honey lola is coming"

Bungad ni mama sa loob ng kwarto namin ng anak ko,hindi ko namalayan na pumasok na pala siya. Kinuha niya si George ng matapos ko itong bihisan.

"Elizabeth we have to go,the cab is waiting,our bags are already down in the lobby,I'm taking George with me"

"Yes ma,"

Sumunod ako sa kanya habang palabas ng kwarto.

"Ma,ibaba nyo na ang apo nyo,he can walk already para naman masanay siya"

Ibinababa na nito si George at hinawakan ang kamay,sumabay naman ako sa kanya ng makalabas na kami sa apartment. Hinawakan ko din ang kabilang kamay ng anak ko at sabay na kaming tatlo na lumakad.

Nang makarating kami sa port ay sinalubong kami ng dalawang lalaki na nakasuit. Tiningnan ko si mama ng may pagtataka.

"SOP honey!"

Hinayaan ko nalang at hindi na nagtanong.

Akala ko ay isang normal na rented cruiser boat ang aming gagamitin papunta sa island. I'm surprised when we stopped in front an elegant and sophisticated boat.

"Ma,what's this? Why did kuya rented a big boat? It's just an hour sail,this is too much,and I think it's expensive to rent this one,Ma....."

"Just get in Elizabeth,for christ sake!"

Naiwan akong nakatanga sa harap ng malaking cruiser boat. Inakay ni mama si George paakyat sa loob nito at may nakaalalay ditong isang lalaking nakasuit din.

"Madame! We need to go onboard now"

Pukaw sa akin ng isang lalaki na nakasuit din,hindi siya ang lalaking sumalubong sa amin kanina. Tumango lang ako sa kanya.

"This way Madame!"
