Sam smiled fondly at AJ as she kept her hand in his while her free one held onto the flowers she had insisted on bringing. She was anxious, he could tell, and, as much as he had told her again and again that she shouldn't worry, she still did.
"Babe... Stop worrying so much." He whispered down at her as they stood in front of his parents' door. "They already know you. They already like you."
"That's different, though, Sam." AJ protested. "Meeting your parents is a whole new level of nerve-wracking."
"Stop." Sam smiled a bit, placing a kiss over her head. "Just be yourself. You'll be fine."
"Please, don't leave me?" She asked, squeezing Sam's hand in hers as the man shook his head.
"Never." He assured. "Now, are you ready?"
AJ stopped for a second, pulling in a deep breath before nodding. Sam smiled then, ringing the doorbell and waiting for less than a minute before the door was pulled open by a young girl who smiled as soon as her green eyes met Sam's form.
"Sammy!" She yelled, throwing herself into his arms as Sam huffed a bit, letting go of AJ's hand to wrap the girl in a tight hug. "I've missed you so much!"
"I've missed you too, bug, so much!" Sam smiled back at her as he put her back down and placed his hands on her cheeks to get her to look at him. "You look prettier than I remember, Stace."
"Thank you." She smiled at him, before allowing her eyes to fall on AJ instead as she pulled Sam's hands from her face. "You must be AJ. Hi, I'm Stacey."
"Hi, Stacey." AJ smiled, extending a hand toward her. "It's nice to finally meet you. I've heard lots about you."
"Good things?" Stacey asked then, shaking AJ's hand with a smile.
"Lovely things."
"Great." Stacey smiled then, a smile as warm and sweet as the one her brother had. "Come in then, AJ. I'll introduce you to the rest of the fam."
Sam smiled then, watching as Stacey grabbed AJ by the hand and walked with her into the house. He stayed by close, but let the two girls do their thing and bond on their own because, really, he knew they would.
"Oi, Stevie!" Stacey called as soon as she walked into the living room, reaching for a cushion on the sofa and throwing straight into her brother's head. "Pause the game and come say hi."
Stevie did as he was told then, putting his controller down as he stood up to walk toward his siblings and AJ.
"Hi, Sam." Stevie smiled at his brother, slapping the back of Stacey's head playfully in retaliation for the cushion on his face. Ignoring the way his sister whined, Stevie turned to AJ then.
"Hi, little man." Sam greeted with a smile, as Stevie rolled his eyes at the nickname. "That's AJ. AJ, that's my brother Stevie."
"Hi, Stevie. It's nice to meet you." AJ smiled at him as he did too, shaking her hand in his.
"You too." He nodded, turning to look at Sam again. "Mom and dad are in the kitchen."
"Yeah, they said we should send you two there when you got here." Stacey nodded.
"Okay." Sam smiled at his siblings fondly as AJ watched him with a sweet smile of her own. "We'll go see them, okay? You two try not to kill each other while we're gone."
"No promises." Stevie smirked a bit as Stacey rolled her eyes.
"Oh, shut up."
AJ giggled quietly at the exchange, but allowed Sam to guide her away from the two of them with a hand on the small of her back.
