S I X T E E N

The room was completely silent as Areum laid in Jungkook's bed. Despite how tired she was earlier. Now she laid completely still, starring up at the ceiling and briefly glancing at the clock sat on the bedside table to her left.

2:45am, it read. When she glanced to her right, Jungkook's feet were planted next to her head. He must of thought she passed out sometime after all the lights were shut off because an hour of just laying there. He had let out a deep sigh and changed his position, so now his head was on the foot of the bed.

She didn't know if he was asleep or not since he hasn't made a peep since than, she also couldn't shake the sulky feeling in her chest. Had she made him uncomfortable?

She didn't mean to, she just didn't want him to sleep on that gross couch or on the floor. Maybe she should've offered to sleep somewhere else. Why didn't she? Why did she want to sleep next to him anyways?

She rolled onto her side, facing away from his feet. Tucking her hands under head, trying to get into a comfortable position to fall asleep in but nothing seemed to be working.

"Can't sleep either?"

She gasped in surprise at the whispered, deep voice on the other side of the bed. She sat up while holding her hand over her chest and with the other, turning the bedside lamp on. Her nerves were already on edge, the last thing she needed was a voice talking in the complete darkness!

"Jesus, Jungkook! You scared me!"

"Sorry" He muttered as he sat up, rubbing his eyes, trying to get them to adjust to the light.

"It's fine. And no I can't sleep"

"Is it me? I can go-" Jungkook was saying but Areum cut him off quickly.

"No! That is exactly what I don't want. This is your room Jungkook, you shouldn't have to sleep somewhere else"

He didn't respond verbally, just nodded his head and continued to sit there, obviously trying to avoid looking at her since he kept his head down. Suddenly finding the seams on his blanket very fascinating.

Areum rolled her eyes and let herself fall back against the bed, expecting her head to land on the soft pillow, she was instead startled when the back of her head hit the headboard.

A quick "ow" escaped her lips and she sat back up, holding the back of her head and turning around to glare at the wooden object. She turned back forward to see Jungkook holding his hand over his mouth, doing a terrible job trying to hide the quiet snickers behind his fingers.

"Are you laughing at me?!" Areum questioned in offense.

"No!" He exclaimed but then immediately started laughing when his hand moved away from the front of his mouth.

"You're such an ass" She stated before grabbing the pillow she was using and swinging it at Jungkook's head before he could dodge it. He stared blankly at her for a few seconds, surprised she had hit him before he retaliated by grabbing his own pillow and swinging it to hit her arm.

That was how the full out pillow fight started. He didn't have the feathery pillows you see in the movies. The ones that explode, sending white feathers flying across the room and landing all over the place during teenage sleep overs.

He had more heavy weighted, firm pillows. Causing the two to tire out quickly, Areum and Jungkook grunted and out of breath as they continued to chase each other around the room, a few laughs and squeals echoed through the room since the whole house was asleep and it was nearing 4am.

The only reason they had stopped was because someone started banging on the door, yelling for them to 'Stop fucking so loud'. Both of their cheeks were bright red after hearing the shouts and they'd hoped no one else -especially their friends- had heard and would get the wrong idea.

They laughed as they collapsed onto the bed beside each other, trying to catch their breaths. "I haven't had a pillow fight in a long time" Areum said, still catching her breath.

"I've never been in a pillow fight before. It was fun" Jungkook admitted, wiping the small amount of sweat that had gathered on his forehead.

"It was fun wasn't it?" She nudge his shoulder with hers. "Are you sleepy yet?" She asked.

He thought for a moment, if anything he was more awake than he had been an hour ago. "No. Are you?" She shook her head as well and Jungkook quickly had an idea pop into his head.

"Do you you want to watch a movie or something? I have Netflix and Hulu connected on my TV, I can even sneak downstairs and steal some snacks!" There was no way Areum could decline his offer.

He looked so happy, like a kid excited on Christmas morning. Also,  free snacks? Who was she to refuse a good time?

Jungkook threw the remote towards her, asking her to pick any movie she wanted while he quietly opened his bedroom door and left to grab stuff for them to munch on. Areum sank under the covers, opening up Netflix and searching through to find a good movie.

They were definitely going to be great friends, she thought.

A/N-

A very short and kind of? Sweet chapter for you that were maybe waiting for an update. Since this was so short, I'm already writing the next chapter and as soon as it's finished I will publish it. (maybe by tomorrow morning or night. I'm on CST time btw!)

I'm not giving spoilers but next chapter might have some drama? Maybe? Idk? You'll just have to wait and read 💜

I also got tested for COVID today. Me and my child were exposed to someone who does have it. We were only around them for 10-15 minutes at most but still, better safe than sorry right!
Neither of us have had any symptoms so I'm hoping we come out negative especially since my child is only 2 years old. It's scary to see kids sick 🥺
My results should be ready by the morning so, next chapter I'll leave an authors note saying what our results were.
