The sun was setting and the wind started to blow a cool breeze as Areum and Ji were taking a stroll to the campus cafe. School, as usual, had been kicking their butts as exam season started to approach closer and closer.
It was hard trying to juggle all of their schoolwork and keep healthy social lives. So in the midst of all the studying, they were somehow able to plan some kind of getaway weekend later this month with Yoongi and Namjoon.
They were actually on their way to meet them right now to talk some final details about the trip. Not in a rush, they were taking their time on the walk there. The two roommates catching up on some girl talk that was desperately needed.
"I don't know, maybe I'm just overreacting"
"So what? You've just been ignoring his texts and calls?" Ji looked over at Areum. Confusion stretched over her face from what Areum had just told her.
"Not, purposely... I just sometimes forget to either return his call or I don't see the text until hours later and it's already too late to respond" She admitted with a shrug.
She wasn't even sure why he had been trying to get ahold of her recently, she assumed it wasn't anything important because when she did answer, she was always greeted with a "how's it going" or a plain text that just said "Hey".
"No, I agree with you, that does sound weird. What do you think Taehyung wants?"
That was a good question. What did he want? That morning when she left to go study, that was the first time he had texted her in quite a while. Asking if she had gotten back to the dorms ok and then, later on, that night he sent another text inviting her to eat pizza with him and Jimin. Which she declined.
Since then, he had been trying to text her every day. But even if she wanted to text back, it was hard to find time to respond anyways. The only people she would respond to within minutes were either Ji or Jungkook. Yes, she had finally gotten his number and of course, she was the one who asked for it because she figured he was never going to.
They were mostly texts about class notes or homework questions, which was a bummer because she was trying to form a friendship here! She had, had fun with him when she slept over. Just good, casual fun!
And since Ji was recently spending most of her free time building a relationship with Namjoon and Yoongi was almost, always busy. She thought Jungkook and her could hang out and do fun stuff together when everyone else was busy.
A little spark of excitement would flow through her whenever her phone would beep, possibly expecting it to be Jungkook but it rarely was. It was always Taehyung... Which Areum started to feel a little weirded out by.
Hence, why she was talking to Ji about it now. "I honestly have no clue..." was all she could think to say because all her thoughts were scrambled. the familiar bell rang as they walked into the cafè and quickly spotted the two boys from across the room, sitting at their usual table.
"Hey!" Ji exclaimed, wrapping her arms around Namjoon from behind. His eyes widen in surprise and a quick gasp escaped his lips before an endearing smile and soft eyes met the girl hugging him. Areum's heart melted at the cute interaction between her two friends.
