Chapter 12: Reunion

I wish I could say that the ride from my kingdom to Keigo's was pleasant and full of excitement, but it wasn't. Not only was the ride very lonely, but as you crossed the border between the kingdoms, it was starting to become very dull.

The sky was a blue grey, unlike in my kingdom where the skies were the brightest blue you could ever imagine. The trees had no leaves, and if they did they were brown, orange, and dried up.

Riding through the village looked the same. There was no color, and extremely dull. There was no one outside of their houses, and the village looked like it was completely raped from its resources: trees, rocks, cloth, everything. The only thing in the village were simple, grey brick houses. They all looked the same; there was no individuality.

Arriving at the palace, though, was completely different look than from the village. It was made from grey brick, but the tiles on the roof were a beautiful red, the gates were gold and shinning. The pavement leading up to the main doors was smooth, and the plants surrounding it looked well kept and healthy.

The money that went into the palace must have been unimaginable.

The same cannot be said about the village.

The coachman opened the door for me, and helped me out of the carriage. Once out, I walked up to the gate, where the guards did not acknowledged me at all. All they did was open the gates. And the second I walked through them, they slammed them shut. I jumped and looked back, but tried to focus on the task at hand. I was nervous. Scared, even.

Walking up to the main doors, I could see Dabi looking out of the windows from a higher floor. I looked up and smiled at him, but he turned away. Something made me very uneasy about this kingdom.

There were no guards by the main doors, so I went to reach for the door handle. Before I could, I heard a voice.

"I'm knight Tenya Iida!" I looked over, to see a boy with dark hair and glasses, wearing armor. He looked about my friends' age.

"I'm Y/N." I introduced myself. "Its nice to meet you."

"And you as well, Princess Y/N!"

"Just call me-"

Before you could say anything else, he opened the door for you, and motioned you in. "Please, feel free to explore, Princess Y/N!"

I took a few steps in, and turned to talk to him again, but he shut the door. I sighed, and turned back around. My eyes were met with one blue and one grey one.

"Todoroki!" I smiled. He just looked at me.

"Hawks isn't here right now." He sighed.

"Hawks? Oh right, Keigo."

"He is in the village."

"What is he doing there?"

"I'm not sure if you noticed, but there is a significant difference between the kingdoms." Dabi said as he came down the stairs, and stood behind Todoroki.

"Even if she did, she wouldn't say anything." Todoroki sighed.

"But why is he in the village?" I asked.

"Iida came and gave his report." Todoroki explained.

"Report? Whats going on?"

Todoroki and Dabi looked at each other, debating whether or not to tell me something.
