Date Night Friday (1)
"Robert Gonzalo, a possible suspect. We think that he might be working with the man who's in charge of the underground Italian gang, who killed the girl." Jay explains to Danielle who has just arrived to the office after being at a 3 hour long meeting downstairs for all women officers. There had been a report of sexual harassment at the 13th district on Tuesday, so today was the 21st district's turn to get a very lengthy and detailed lecture that if there is inappropriate things being done to any of the women in the workplace, they need to report it, and that they should not be afraid to speak up. She watches Jay pin the photo of Robert on the whiteboard. "Has he said anything?" She asks. "No. He refuses to speak English." Antonio answers, munching on a granola bar. "Speaking Italian?" Danielle asks curiously. "Yeah." Kevin answers with a frustrated sigh. "Who's talked to Robert so far?" She asks, leaning against Antonio's desk. "Me and Kevin did the first time, then Jay tried to get somewhere but it didn't happen." Ruzek answers. "Any of you ever think to get Al to talk to our guy?" She asks in slight confusion. "Why Al?" Jay asks. "Because I speak Italian." Olinsky answers as he steps out of the break room, half eaten banana in his right hand. "Why didn't you say anything?" Jay, Kevin, and Adam ask simultaneously, all of their brows furrowed. "It's funny to watch you all struggle sometimes." Al answers, laughing a bit before heading to the interrogation room. "I'm going to go to the vending machine." Kevin huffs softly. "I'll go, too." Adam says, following his partner. Jay walks into the break room to make some coffee while Antonio goes to Hank's office to let him know what's going. Curiosity getting the best of her, the sniper goes to the watch room, wanting to see Al in action. She sees Al hasn't entered the interrogation room yet. "I had a feeling you'd be the one to back me." He tells her softly, Danielle giving him a small smile before walking into the watch room, Al walking into the interrogation room. "Ciao (Hi)." Al tells Robert softly, fake smiling at the suspect. All he gets in return is a glare. "Oh, non ti aspettavi di parlare italiano con qualcuno (Oh, you weren't expecting to speak Italian with someone)?" Al asks, Robert continuing to glare. "No." He answers, Al just humming softly. "Well, I'm bilingual. I speak prick, too." He says with a now straight face. "Non parlerò (I will not speak)." Roberto replies. Al nods, calmly opening up the file that's in front of him, showing Roberto the photo of the girl that was murdered this morning. "Guarda a questo! Se non parli, sarai accusato di omicidio (Look at this! If you don't speak, you'll be charged with murder)." Al raises his voice, Robert looking at the photo then at Olinsky in horror. Hank quietly enters the watch room, Danielle looking at him with a small smile for a second before looking back into the other room, scooting over a bit to give the Sargent space to stand next to her. "Voglio parlare ora (Want to talk now)?" Al asks. Robert rubs his face then nods his head, answering, "It wasn't me." 'Oh, he speaks English now.' Danielle thinks to herself with a small smile. "It wasn't me." Roberts repeats in a sigh. "All I know is that I get calls from a guy named Ricci to contract someone to help them hide whatever they need to hide. I'm literally just the messenger." Robert explains, Al just staring at him until he hears a knock from the window behind him, knowing it's his best friend, so he stands up. "Fino alla prossima volta (Until the next time)." Al tells him softly before walking out of the interrogation room. Voight stands right outside the watch room, a smirk on his face. "I guess that bit of time you served in the Army as part of a Special Response Team in Italy really paid off." Hank tells Al who shrugs with a small smile. "Yeah, I guess so." Al says, both chuckling before Hank walks off ahead of Danielle and Alvin, leaving them to walk together. The 20 year old can't get over how confident Olinsky seemed as he spoke the second language without a flaw, how he seemed to enjoy the horror he put on Robert's face, how he raised his voice since he's usually soft spoken; she loved it all, maybe a little too much. "Enjoy the show?" He asks her very softly, noticing her slightly rosy cheeks. "Yeah, gotta hand it to you, I'm very impressed." She answers softly, Al smiling at her. "So impressed that it made you a bit flustered?" He asks with a smirk. "I don't know what you're talking about." She innocently answers, trying to play it off as she lifts her hands a bit in mock surrender. Al pulls her into the garage, closing the door behind them then looking at her. Danielle gives him a slightly confused look as he steps closer to her, so much so that he gently backs her up into the nearest wall, putting his hands against the wall near both sides of her head. "Sai benissimo di cosa parlo, micetta (You know very well what I'm talking about, kitten)." He tells her very softly with a slight smile, not losing eye contact as he watches her face grow pink. Realizing how stupid she must look to him right now, she covers her face with her hands, body practically numb and on fire. Al pulls her to him for a hug, Danielle feeling her embarrassment grow as she hears his chuckling rumble through his chest. "Tonight is going to be very fun. I promise." Al tells her before letting her go, walking to the door to open it for her. "My only suggestion to you right now would be to pull yourself together before the boys ask questions." He adds teasingly, about to turn the knob but the sniper stops him. "Wait." She says, walking over to him. Before he can ask if what's wrong, Danielle softly grabs onto his coat and brings his face closer to hers, their lips meeting for a deep yet gentle kiss. After she pulls away, she opens the door for them, giving Al a shy smile before walking down the rest of the hallway, hoping her blush is long gone as she quietly approaches her desk. Olinsky stays put near the doorway of the garage, smiling a bit to himself before licking his lips, being met by the taste of minty lip gloss.
~after work~
"Hey, do you wanna go to Molly's with us?" Adam asks Danielle as she puts on her work bags, him, her, Kevin, and Jay and Antonio in the locker room. "I would totally go, but I committed myself to a prior engagement tonight last week. I'm sorry." She tells them. "What's going on in your world?" Kevin asks, the three younger guys looking at each other before watching her shrug a bit. "Something I can't change." Danielle answers with a small smile before saying bye to the three of them, giving each a hug. 'More like I don't want to change.' She thinks to herself as she leaves the locker room, heading to the office and walking downstairs. "Have a good weekend, Trudy." Danielle tells Platt who looks at her daughter-like friend. "You, too, kiddo. Oh, come here for a quick sec." Trudy tells her, a very tiny smile on the desk Sargent's lips. "What's up?" Danielle asks softly. "This." Platt answers, pulling out an engagement ring magazine from under the front desk, placing it in front of the sniper. Danielle's eyes grow wide at the book then at Trudy who is now smiling like there's no tomorrow. "I found this in Mouch's truck last night. We went on a date and when he got down to buy a bottle of wine, I saw this under his seat." Trudy explains in a whisper. "Congratulations, Trudy. You really deserve being proposed and married to. Wait, won't he know you took his magazine?" Danielle asks with a small smile. "I'm seeing him again tonight, so he'll never know it was gone. But look which ones he's circled! He knows me so well." Trudy gushes like a teenage girl talking about a beloved boy band, flipping through a few pages to show the 20 year old the circled rings. 'I'm so happy for Trudy.' She thinks to herself. "Congrats, Trudy." Danielle tells her friend before the desk Sargent gets bombarded by a few patrolmen looking to go home early since it's Friday. With a small wave to Platt, the sniper quietly leaves, making her way to the personal parking lot. 'They're such a power couple.' Danielle thinks to herself, a smile on her lips as she makes her way to her car. Movement catches her attention, finding someone leaning against her driver door, but she isn't close enough to see who. Putting her hand on her pocket knife, she slows her pace of walking, mentally preparing herself in case she has to put up a fight of any kind. "It's me." Al softly tells her when she gets near the hood of the car. He watches Danielle exhale softly, shaking her head a bit. "Don't do that." She tells him with a soft laugh, hugging him. "I'm sorry." He apologizes with a smile as he hugs her back. "I forgot to ask earlier," He starts as he watches Danielle toss her work bags into the passenger seat, "but if you don't mind, can you please wear something María bought you? I've been wondering what you got." He asks her, the sniper smiling slightly. "Yeah, of course." She answers. "Thank you. Okay, I gotta run to make a stop before heading home. I'll see you at 7." He tells her happily, making sure she gets into her car. "See you at 7, Al." Danielle tells him with a smile before starting up her car. As soon as she starts backing out of the parking space, he turns and walks to his car parked a few spaces down.
