"Here you are, C.P.D.'s Intelligence." Trudy says, using her hands to gesture around the empty bullpen she and a young woman are standing in.
"Thank you, Trudy." Danielle says, nodding once after taking a quick look around. Movement and distant chatter causes both of them to turn towards a hallway coming from deep within the office.
"Oh, good, everyone is arriving now." Trudy tells the teen who nods slightly.
They both watch as a group of men walk into the office, their conversations dying down when they spot the desk Sergeant and an unknown woman standing beside her.
"Morning, Trudy." One of the men says softly. He's dressed in a black coat with a maroon sweater underneath, dark blue jeans, and some black boots, having tied the look together with a plain black beanie.
"Who's this?" He asks, drawing everyone's attention to the youngest in the room.
"Rodriguez, Danielle. I'm new to the team, sir." The young woman answers.
"How come we didn't know we were getting someone new?" Jay asks Trudy.
"Surprise." She answers sarcastically, causing him to slightly smile.
"Alvin Olinsky. They call me Al." The man who spoke first introduces himself. He offers her a hand to shake, and she does so quickly, not wanting to keep him waiting.
"Jay Halstead." The second man who spoke introduces himself, also shaking her hand.
"Kevin Atwater."
"Adam Ruzek."
"Antonio Dawson."
"Our boss will be in soon." Al tells her, earning a small nod from her.
"Alright, I'll leave you to mingle and get settled." Trudy says, softly patting her friend on the back before she's making her way back down to the front of the station.
"That's your desk right there." Al says, pointing to an empty desk that sits directly in front of, what she assumes is, their boss's office.
"So," She looks to him and the others, "What brings you to work with us?" He asks, sitting at his desk like the others are doing.
She studies Al's face before opening her mouth to speak. Yet, a different voice answers for her, "She's our sniper."
Everyone turns to see Sergeant Hank Voight walk in and up to her desk. Danielle stands, introducing herself before extending her hand to her boss who shakes it.
"Our sniper?" Kevin asks, the others wondering the same thing.
"Yes." Hank answers as he walks into his office.
"Welcome to the team." Antonio tells her softly.
"Thank you." She softly speaks.
She finds that his desk is to her right. Looking around the room again, she silently memorizes where everyone is sitting; Al is across her while Kevin, Adam, and Jay are centralized across Antonio.
"What's your number?" Kevin breaks the silence.
"Bro, seriously? It's her first day." Adam teases with a smirk.
"That way I can put it into our work group chat." Kevin explains as he ignores Adam. After reciting her number for him, he and the others send texts into the thread, having typed simple greetings.
"Who's who?" She asks. All of the men looked at each other, forgetting that they hadn't put their names corresponding with their numbers.
"Thanks, boss." She says after a second, seeing that Hank actually put his name in a text when he sent it.
