An extended ending of Case 14

"Detective Halstead is not the man to blame...Not the man to hate." Ray Price's voice trails off on a speech he's delivering for the evening news, Danielle, Al, and Antonio watching Ray talk on one of the TVs while sitting in a practically empty Molly's. "Sounds like good news." Danielle says softly, boyfriends nodding. "Makes you think though. I mean, Halstead's just doing his job, he almost gets killed, for God sakes, and they try their best to throw him under the bus." She adds before taking a drink of her water. "It's a tough time being a cop. In Chicago, anyway." Antonio says, taking a swig of his beer. "Yeah, I'll drink to that." Al says, the two clinking the necks of their beer bottles together softly before each take a drink. "What do you guys want for dinner?" Danielle asks, both men thinking for a moment. "Um, breakfast?" Antonio suggests. "We can go to a Village Inn or something." Al says with a small smile as one appears on the sniper's face. The creaking of the bar doors causes them to all turn around, finding Hank walking over to them. "You both started without me? How rude." He jokes with Al and Antonio, asking the bartender, who neither of the four know because she's new, for a beer as Hank sits beside Danielle to her left. "Hey, sweetheart." He tells her with a small smile, placing a soft kiss to her cheek which makes her automatically smile. "Hi." She says as she returns the kiss just before the bartender brings him his beer. "I take it things went well." Al says, pointing to the TV, Hank nodding slightly. "Very." He answers after taking a long drink of the alcohol. "The boys are coming, too. Adam said something about celebrating." Hank says. "What? No, come on. I thought it was just us." Antonio softly groans, placing his head on Danielle's right shoulder, smiling against it when she runs her fingers through his dark locks. "Dawson, don't look so sad, bro. The life of the party has arrived." Jay jokes as he, Mouse, Kevin, and Adam walk into the bar, finding a couple of other people aside themselves inside the bar. Before they can step any closer, he kisses Danielle's shoulder before straightening up, he, Voight, and Olinsky greeting the boys. "How're you doing, Jay?" The sniper asks as he sits across the four, the others following after getting beers. "Good. And thank you, all of you, for finding Marcus." He thanks the team who nod with small smiles. "Alright, it's Friday, let's get drunk!" Kevin says as his smile grows, the men doing a small cheers to Halstead who's survived a ruthless eye of the Chicago Police Department and public. After half an hour of talking about anything that comes up, the boys' drinks have become a stronger source of alcohol, thanks to Ruzek. "So, since you don't drink, what do you do on weekends, Danielle?" Adam asks her, eyes going from her to Al then back to her. "Oh, um..." She isn't sure how to respond, being that the question caught her off guard, but she isn't the only one who saw Adam look from her to Olinsky. "She probably hangs out with her partner." Jay says teasingly with a small smirk, knowing both are dating since Antonio told him from the beginning. Hearing this, Adam's brows furrow slightly as he looks at Al, waiting to see what his mentor will comment. "Uh, yeah, that's partially what I do." The sniper says with a small smile, nervously taking a sip of water. "And what do you two do?" Jay asks, trying to have one or the other admit their relationship. "She's great at helping the kids with their school work. Diego is actually passing two classes that he wasn't passing before because of her help." Antonio answers in admiration, hoping his answer doesn't give off any relationship vibes. He'd totally confess his feelings for her right here and now just like he know Al and Hank will do, but he isn't sure if they're both ready for the subject to come up with their coworkers. "Do they like her?" Mouse asks, barely coming back to reality from having been spaced out. "Yeah. A lot. And I can see why." Antonio answers with a boyish smile, watching his girlfriend blush slightly. In an effort to try and distract herself, she lightly scratches her shoulder, faking an itch, moving the fabric of her sleeve down just a smidge. "What is that?" Adam asks with a grin, pointing to her shoulder. Brows furrowing, Danielle follows his finger, seeing he's spotted a dark hickey Hank left on her shoulder the night before. "I don't know what you're talking about." She tries to smoothly play off, quickly adjusting the shoulder part of her shirt so it's covering the mark. "Who's the guy?" Adam asks in amusement, Danielle shaking her head which is shouting her boyfriends' names at their friends, but she stays quiet. "I think we all know, Ruz." Jay says with a smirk as the two look at each other. "Al." "Antonio." They say in unison, their different answers causing Halstead and Ruzek to look at each other like each is crazy. "What?" They ask each other simultaneously. "You're wrong." "No, you're wrong. All the signs are there." "Dude, he told me to my face that he likes her and that they're dating." "Yeah, well Alvin told me the same thing." "Both of you are wrong." Hank says with a chuckle that is cut very short as he realizes what has just slipped from his mouth. "What?!" Mouse, Jay, and Adam ask, eyes so wide that they might pop out of their sockets. "Oops." Hank says with a nervous glance at his best friend and the father of two, the three then looking at their girlfriend who's quietly sitting between Voight and Dawson with very rosy cheeks. "This reaction is why she trusted and told me that the four of them are dating, you guys are so drama-" Kevin starts but stops as he also realizes what has just slipped past his lips. "Wait a minute, man, you knew?" Adam asks his partner in disbelief, Atwater looking at a now red faced sniper who doesn't look at any of the men in front of her. "Oops." Is all Kevin says softly, apologizing to his sister-like friend. "Hold on...hold on. So you're-you're all dating?" Mouse asks Danielle slowly as he motions to her and her boyfriends, making sure he has the baffling news correct. "Yes, but it's-" "How long?" Adam asks, trying to wrap his head around what he's just heard. "Two months." Hank answers for his clearly embarrassed girlfriend. "Hold the fuck up, I'm sorry, two whole months?" Jay asks, letting this all sink in. "Did he stutter?" Al calmly asks, causing the sniper to laugh a bit which makes him smile slightly. "But you three...you aren't, um, gay, are you? I-I don't have a problem if you are, I, um, just help us understand here." Adam says, Kevin face palming slightly. "They're not gay, you idiot. The three of them are dating Danielle and she's dating them." Kevin explains, Adam's mouth forming into an 'O' shape. "But...why?" Jay asks, seeming to be having a hard time registering why on earth Danielle would choose to date Hank Voight of all people. "What do you mean why?" Al asks Halstead. "Why would you date him?" The question spews rapidly from his mouth before Jay has any time to stop himself, looking at the sniper but pointing at their boss. "Why wouldn't I?" She asks with a slightly raised brow. The Sargent feels a bit hurt by the question, but he already knew it would be asked by someone along the way. Not wanting to cause an issue between the four who seem perfectly happy together, Jay just shrugs and smiles a little, taking a different approach. "He's your boss." Jay tells her. "He's your boss, too. I mean, be honest here, we've kept the relationship a secret for 2 months now. Have you seen it interfering with our work lives?" Danielle asks in all honesty, not just to Halstead, but Adam, Greg, and Kevin. As they think over the time period, the four can't find a moment when either Hank, Al, or Antonio have been out of the normal with the 20 year old. "She's right." Mouse says. "Were the rumors a few weeks back true?" Jay asks the four. "You want them to be?" Antonio playfully answers, his girlfriend looking over at him with a smile before telling him to be quiet in Spanish which makes him laugh as he puts his arm around the back of her chair. It's silent for a bit before someone breaks it. "Well, cat's out of the bag." Al tells Rodriguez, Dawson and Voight. "Which means I can freely do this." Antonio says, gently grabbing her chin which makes her face him as their lips meet for a short, soft kiss, leaving her blushing slightly when they pull away. "So how does it work? Like how you guys divide time with her between the three of you?" Mouse asks kindly with a small smile, very happy his anxiety buddy has someone, well three someones, to be her calming force on her overwhelmingly anxious days. The three men begin explaining to the boys the relationship's 'schedule', so to say. "That's smart." Kevin says before taking another shot. "And how does it feel to have three boyfriends?" Jay asks the 20 year old who looks at him from having been watching the weather portion of the still running news. "Feels like a dream I don't ever wanna wake up from." She answers softly, not being able to help the smile that presents itself. "Do you ever get jealous about younger guys?" Adam asks the men who shake their heads a bit. "Nah. We know she'll kick any punk's ass if they try anything." Al answers with a smirk. "Have you four really talked about your relationship in depth?" Jay asks another question that's burning in his brain. "What do you mean?" Hank asks. "I-I don't mean this in an offensive way or anything, but it's no secret you three...you know..." Halstead explains but comes to a pause, trying to figure out how to not offensively word his question, "Age like fine wine?" Danielle suggests with a small giggle, earning really big smiles from her boyfriends who are more than pleased to be receiving the compliment from her. That's one thing they love, that she doesn't struggle to compliment them at their age, which obviously boosts their confidences while being with her. It comes naturally to her like it would to a teenage girl gushing over a supermodel or favorite celebrity, which makes the three absolutely sure that Danielle is genuinely into each of them. How can she not be? All three men have a different way of treating her. Antonio is sweet, caring, in touch with his sensitive side, is a wonderful father, and an incurable romantic who treats her like a queen. Al is the same, treating her like a queen and praising her like a goddess, but he has perverted little tendencies in store for the sniper when he knows no one is watching them, loving the way she gets shy. Hank, well, he's fierce, can be seen as manipulative, untrustworthy, and holds a dark force around him that causes people to steer clear of the man's name and even the man himself, yet he somehow manages to keep all that away from Danielle who gets to see how thoughtful, sweet, and caring he is. But to the sniper, the three are mature, intelligent, dawn protective demeanors with her, have strong personal opinions, and work extremely well together; Al and Antonio being Hank's voices of reason when things get too stressful at work. Plus, their looks are just a bonus in her eyes. They've lived long enough to know what they want, and they've chosen her, which has let her know that they're taking the relationship as serious as she is. "Alright, well I'm starving. Are you starving?" Al asks Antonio who nods immediately, his single beer not having taken away his hunger. They both look over at Danielle and Hank who nod. "Wait, I was gonna buy another round of shots. Don't you guys want some?" Adam asks with a smile. "I'm good, kid. Thanks. We promised her breakfast before you all got here." Al tells Ruz who nods, smiling growing as the boys say bye to the four. "Breakfast for dinner?" Mouse asks with a curious look. "Don't knock it til you try it." Antonio says, taking Danielle's hand in his. "Please be careful getting home." She tells the boys who nod with small smiles. "Yes ma'am!" Kevin says, playfully saluting her as the boys watch the four leave.

Once the four are outside, they walk towards their vehicles, Danielle having taken her car to work this morning. "Baby, can we ride with you? I don't feel like driving." Al asks, watching her nod as she walks over to the driver side door of her car. "Of course, you guys don't even have to ask." The sniper answers as she gets in, letting Antonio open and close her door. As she starts up the Magnum, the men get in, only to hear her happily gasp as they buckle up. "What?" Hank asks from the backseat with a small smile as she carefully leaves the parking lot, waiting for a few cars to pass before exiting. "This is my favorite song!" Danielle answers, putting up the slow rap song, but fails to mention the name. The three admire how easily she keeps up with the words, wondering how many times she's listened to the song and for how long it's been stored in her memory. The beat and bass thumping is pretty soothing, but it's the words of the first verse and chorus that catch each man's attention. "I must be Jim Morrison to get a motherfucking girl like you, don't know what I did in my past life, but it must have been something cool, 'cause I'm a whiskey drinking, fight provoking, cigarette smoking dude, I got a problem with my attitude, it's hard for me to keep cool, but when I look at you, I see me, a reflection of a real soul, so pardon me, if I may seem loose and out of control, it ain't the drink talking, it's me talking, fuck if everyone knows, you my girl and that's that, so hop on the back of this bike and roll, let's roll now, can I put this ring on your finger, let you know that I'm serious? Marry me now. I'd never let someone straight up disrespect you, I'd never let someone call you out your name, I'll always be the one that runs up to protect you, 'cause I know if I was down you'd come and do the same." Al looks at his best friend who looks over at him, giving him the slightest nod.
~1 1/2 hours later~
"I'm going to go to the restroom." Danielle says after the four have ordered their food at a Village Inn. "Okay, but hurry back, mi cielo (my heaven)." Antonio tells her with a small smile, and before she's able to walk away from the table, he smacks her butt, her hands immediately covering where he just playfully hit as a blush takes over her face. "No puedes llamarme algo lindo y luego hacer eso (You can't call me something cute and then do that), Tonio." The sniper tells him in a hushed tone that causes him to laugh a bit. "I just did." He tells her, sounding proud of himself, but it quickly wears off when she leans down to his ear, Hank and Al watching Antonio's ears grow scarlet before their girlfriend straightens up while giving him a small smile, both knowing for a fact that she must have said something insinuating bedroom acts for tonight. The three watch her walk to the bathroom, making sure she enters it before they look at each other. "You okay there, man?" Al asks with a smirk, he and Hank chuckling as Antonio clears his throat a bit before nodding, notably feeling hot under his collar. "Quick, now that she's gone, have you both thought about what we said last week?" Hank asks his friends who nod. "The answer is yes. Like big time." Al wastes no time in answering. "I agree. I know how bad we're itching for it to happen." Antonio adds. They keep quietly conversing the subject at hand until Al spots a familiar head of brunette hair walking towards the table. "Yeah, so then I told the owner if he could describe the thief to me and he said he didn't remember because the dude had gotten hit over the head with a can of beans. It was the lamest excuse ever." Al smoothly changes the subject, the other two catching on just as Danielle comes back, sitting down beside Antonio, snuggling up into his left side as he puts his arm around her. "Ready to go?" Hank asks her with a small smile. "Yeah." She answers, giving Dawson's jaw a kiss before getting out of the booth again, him right on her heels as he holds her hand, Hank and Al following them to the cash register. After paying, they're all walking out as a tune floods their ears from the outside restaurant speakers. "Just the two of us, we can make it if we try, just the two of us." The song famous 80s song sings, the sniper joining in on the next part but just changing two words. "Just the four of us, building castles in the sky, just the four of us, you three and I." She sings to her boyfriends who smile as they watch her dance her way ahead of them to her car. The image gets engraved into their memories, each man looking at each other with smitten smiles. Yeah, this is exactly what they're looking forward to.
