The feeling grew inside of him when he saw how she interacted with Jeremiah and Dawson's teens over the weekend. The four newlyweds had the toddler and teens spend this past weekend with them because Jeremiah had been asking his parents to 'stay with Aun Danewe' and the teens wanted to 'be with the cool parents'. Antonio, Al, and Hank thought it was a perfect idea to have the three stay overnight. Except it wasn't perfect. It was all absolutely heavenly. Danielle handled the toddler and teens like a pro, even having Antonio playfully questioning his own parenting skills. Maybe it was because the toddler and teens love and adore her or maybe it's the fact that she loves all three children dearly, but something about the weekend just stuck to Olinsky, becoming engraved into his brain. Everything about her interactions with the children on Saturday made his heart melt; Danielle's soft voice, how carefully she handled Jeremiah, the way Diego and Eva snuggled into her sides with Jeremiah in her lap while the four watched TV after dinner, how cute and happy his wife looked carrying the toddler and being followed around the fours' newly settled into house by the teens. Ruzek had dropped by that evening, just wanting to hang out with his mentor, boss, and the best undercover detective. Al had stared at Danielle the whole time, not even feeling bad that he was blatantly ignoring the story Adam was telling him. It wasn’t that important anyway. Adam or his gorgeous wife entertaining the three year old toddler while somehow managing to also help the Dawson kids with their homework? The choice was obvious. It doesn't help that today, a Monday evening after work, he and Danielle stopped by a small grocery store to pick up some stuff she needed in order to make dinner. While the two stood in line ready to purchase their few items, in front of them was a happy baby girl, maybe a year old. Her big blue-green colored eyes never left his wife who was also looking at the toddler. He watched Danielle wave a bit at the baby who immediately began to giggle. "Mama!" The little girl said with a big smile, the sniper suddenly feeling mortified. "N-No, no, no. She's your mama." Danielle told the baby, pointing to the girl's mom. "Mama, mama!" The baby chanted, the sniper looking at the parents who seemed shocked but soon started laughing a bit. "That's her first word. We had been trying all of last week to get her to talk." The dad said, the 20 year old's soul practically having left her body at hearing those sentences. "I'm so, so sorry. I'm sorry." She apologized, the parents telling her they didn't mind at all. "It's not every day your child calls a police officer mama, right?" The wife joked as she pointed at Danielle's police badge hanging around her neck, the sniper just wanting to hide behind Al who was watching his wife in awe and amusement. After that, they went home and Danielle went straight to the kitchen to make dinner, beef tacos with beans and rice which her husbands happily ate and thanked her for. Now, Al is silently watching her read one of his favorite books in the living room from their bedroom doorway. He had already extensively spoke to Dawson and Voight about his growing feeling. "As long as she's good with it, I'm good with it. We're not going anywhere." The now 50 year old father of two had told him a few weeks ago. "We'll be here for you with whatever you both need. No matter what." Hank said with a smile. Taking advantage that Hank and Antonio purposely stepped out to the store for some toiletries so he can talk to their wife alone, the 60 year old deeply exhales, softly letting it out before walking over to his wife who looks up from the book, giving him a small smile. "Hey, love." She says softly, watching as Al sits to her right side, feeling his arms snake around her torso as she sits up a bit straighter to give him more space. He buries his face in her neck, giving it a small peck which makes her set the book down on the arm of the couch to her left. "Jellybean?" He mumbles his favorite nickname for her because, according to him, his wife is as sweet as candy. That's the answer he gave her the first month they began dating when she had asked why he calls her that so much. Danielle hums softly in response, running her fingers through the ends of his curly hair. His stubbled cheeks and chin tickles her neck, but she'd rather have him leaning on her like this than him get up entirely.
