"There seemed to be something tragic in a friendship coloured by romance."

- Oscar Wilde

"C'mon, Hayley! You look fantastic, and we're already late!" Exclaimed Sirena in almost a whine.

Hayley had explained how important this party at the Abattoir was, but Sirena was just trying not to think of it too much. She was never one to look for a fight, yet she couldn't deny that there was certain nervousness in her at the thought of one of the four wolves who had been invited as well causing trouble.

"Do I really look okay? Belly and all?"

Her body was one of the insecurities Hayley hated most during her pregnancy. She knew that all of these changes were normal, they were good for both her and her baby, but it didn't mean it wasn't a hard pill to swallow when looking in the mirror.

Luckily for her, Sirena and Eve were always there whenever she needed reassurance, even when she wouldn't admit it.

"Yes. Belly and all."

Finally, the two young women walked into the compound, side by side and heads held high, admiring the lights and decor of the place.
Most people turned to look at them, their names coming from the lips of the other factions in the Quarter.

They were even spotted by the hybrid, from the second floor of the compound.

It was infuriating to him, he could not understand how Sirena could have such a temper when she looked so angelic under the artificial blue lights. Her light violet dress embraced her figure perfectly, allowing her skin to almost shine under the moonlight.

"Looking for your play fish?" Genevieve's voice snapped him out of his thoughts, turning to see her approaching him with a glass of champagne in hand.

"Don't tell me you're jealous of Sirena, love." He smirked to himself.

"I'm just ... curious of why you seek her company." He felt he had been caught underneath his perfect façade of calmness. "She seems so ... ordinary."

"Well, sometimes ordinary is a welcome respite."

"I thought I was your respite." The same word coming from her lips felt venomous.

"Well, you are. You are." Klaus, charming as ever, put his hands on her shoulders gently, showing her his dashing smile in an attempt to settle her doubts. "Now, promise me, not another thought about Sirena."

Genevieve simply smiled with fake relief, getting a kiss on her cheek that was meant to be gentle and reassuring. Instead, it felt cold, as if it were a warning for her to follow his words.

Sirena looked for a young face in the crowd, and frowned once she found her next to none other than Oliver.
Excusing herself with Hayley, she all but stormed towards where the notably older blond man was trying to flirt with someone she saw as a little sister.
