"You've been living here for three months now?" Ron asked as he looked around the room. He was right not to hide his suspicion of the room. It was one of the cheapest rooms in the place, which would be OK for spending one or two nights, but for three - almost four - long months it was terrible.
"Yeah," Haven nodded as she quickly strolled into the room and slid the large trunk from under the bed. The floor creaked with every step she took. "But I managed so it's all right. Could one of you get the clothes from the cupboard? I need to get the shower stuff," Haven quickly slid through the doorway to the bathroom attached to her room.
Harry looked around the place and had to agree with Ron that this was no place to live. He didn't know Haven that well and was unaware of her situation during and after the war. He had no idea she had to live through such tough circumstances and for the first time in a while, he felt a rush of gratitude for the Weasleys for taking him in so kindly.
Hermione moved around the room towards the big cupboard in the corner and started to pull out three piles of clothing and laid them on the bed. Ron concerned himself over the items that laid on the dresser. Harry made his way over to the bed and helped Hermione put the clothes in the almost empty trunk, ignoring how Hermione slapped his hand away when he unknowingly reached for the pile with undergarments.
"Hey, Haven?" Ron asked the girl when she walked back into the room with her hands full of small bottles of shampoo and other toiletries.
"Hmm?" Haven hummed, unable to answer as she had a toothbrush between her teeth since her arms were too full. She quickly put everything on the bed, put the toothbrush in a small fitted bag and then turned to Ron.
"This cup won't mend anymore but there's cracks all over it," Ron held up a small glass cup that stood on the dresser. It was indeed covered with small cracks and it seemed like it could splinter to pieces any moment. Ron had his wand in his other hand and had apparently tried the Mending Charm on it but without any result.
"Oh, right, yeah," Haven nodded, turning back to the stuff on her bed and strategically put it in her trunk. "It stopped completely mending after a while, I'm not sure why,"
"Why did you need to mend it so many times then? Keep knocking it off?" Ron asked as he put the glass back on the dresser.
"Sort of," Haven mumbled. She turned to the nightstand beside her bed and grabbed the books from it, also putting them in the trunk along with the backpack she was carrying through Diagon Alley. "So, you all have been hanging at The Burrow since the battle?"
"Yeah," Hermione nodded, scanning over the books Haven put in the trunk. "Well, Ron and I stayed with my parents for a couple of days but apart from that we were at The Burrow most of the time,"
"Oh, right, you two are a thing now," Haven nodded. "About time,"
Harry tried to hold it in but he couldn't help but snort at Haven's last statement. He too had been wishing Ron and Hermione would get over themselves and get together for almost three years now. Harry had no clue, however, that he wasn't the only one who spotted his friends' desperate attempts to impress each other without losing sight of their pride. It was torture for Harry.
Hermione gave Harry a foul look as she carefully placed the last book into the trunk. Haven closed it and lifted it to its side so it would be easier and safer to carry. With a flick of her wand, Haven levitated the trunk into the air and made it zoom out of the room and down the stairs. She grabbed a jacket from the one stool in the room and tied it around her waist so she could put it on in case it got cold.
The four walked down the stairs after Haven's trunk which waited for them just before the exit. Haven tossed her the key to her room on the counter where Tom, the landlord, was washing some glasses.
