The more the NEWTs grew nearer with every day, Harry wished more and more that he had gotten over himself and asked Haven to be with him much sooner than he did.
Because Harry had little to lose by failing his NEWTs, he didn't bother studying as much as he did for his OWLs back in his fifth year. He was quite the opposite to Haven now - something he never thought would happen in terms of studying.
Harry remembered Haven's indifference to the classes they were taking when he first took interest in her. She was barely interested in anything the professors were supposed to teach them, save for Professor McGonagall's classes on various Healing Spells.
Harry supposed he should have expected to spend less time with her ever since she decided to focus more on her future in any possible job field - even though she failed to mention the internship that was ready for her to take - but he was still put out when he had to watch her study numerous subjects in Potions from multiple different books.
Luckily, Harry still had Theo to keep him entertained. Ever since the tragic break-up between Theo and Bernard, Theo was more reserved and kept his physical affections to himself, again as he did before meeting Bernard. Harry was sad to see him so out of element and wish there to be a chance for Theo to cheer up again.
All Harry could do for now is making sure Theo's mind wandered far from Bernard and his knocked-up ex-girlfriend and the child they arranged to raise together.
"So, don't you have studying to do?" Harry asked Theo.
They were seated by the fire on one of the love seats from which Harry had a perfect view of Haven who was now knawing on the end of her pencil as she sketched the texture of a type of love potion. Harry wanted to keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't work herself into depression and stayed healthy.
"There's this Muggle Studies thing I'm applying to and they surprisingly don't require any NEWTs," Theo told him. His head was tilted against the backrest, slumped down along with his entire body. Nowadays he rarely seemed to have enough energy for anything.
"Muggle Studies, huh?" Harry asked. "I've got to say, I did not really expect you to go in that direction,"
"What, because of my father?" Theo frowned, looking at Harry to watch him shrug. "His stupidity is the reason I want to. I want to be more informed on Muggles, partly to spite him and partly because I find Muggles to be quite interesting,"
Harry raised his eyebrows in surprise but a satisfied grin appeared on his face.
"Hey, don't you know any Muggles I can talk to for experience?" Theo sat up a little straighter. "You grew up with them, didn't you?"
"Yes, and they were horrible and they hate anything and anyone that has even the slightest relation to wizardry and magic," Harry explained to Theo with a roll of his eyes. "You do not wish to meet them, trust me,"
Harry's attention was stolen away when he watched Haven drop her head in her arms and crumble the papers of whatever she was writing on in frustration. Harry was less than two seconds away from getting up and going over to save her from her difficulties but Hermione was one step ahead of him and sat down with Haven. From what Harry could see, Hermione was explaining something to Haven from in one of her books and then took out her own notes to help her understand it better.
"So the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff is Saturday, huh?" Theo spoke up now. Harry tore his gaze back to the Slytherin and nodded enthusiastically. Quidditch was one of the few topics he could talk about for hours.
