It wasn't long until the week of the NEWTs would arrive. The students were busier than any other time in their lives - if they didn't already have a secured work opportunity, of course.
Like Ron and Theo, Harry already had an assured position. The Ministry for Magic was welcoming him to the Auror program starting in September of the next school year and Harry couldn't be more excited. On one hand, he was quite nervous and frightened that he would have to go through the same tiring mentality as he did before May second of 1998, but Harry knew the guilt of turning his back on the wizarding world now would creep up to him eventually. Even when he knew he owed the Ministry for Magic and the entire wizarding world nothing- not even a sickle.
Despite his luck that he did not have to stress for his NEWTs, Harry did think of these days to be rather disappointing and gloomy. Harry wanted nothing more than to spend all the time possible with Haven whilst he still could but he understood she had to pass the NEWTs - especially the Potions one.
On most evenings and afternoons, Harry would watch Haven from a distance as she sat at one of the desks studying various subjects and their relation to the magic of Healing whilst he played card games with Ron and Theo and any other students that had little interest in passing their NEWTs.
Both him and Ron often watching their girlfriends from across to room to be sure they didn't overwork themselves or didn't lose their minds in their studies.
It was quite an odd sight to behold - watching Haven throw herself so deep into this work. Harry would've never imagined this to ever happen considering her previous plans on marrying rich. Harry supposed he could count as richer than the average eighteen-year-old but he was quite sure that Haven wouldn't throw all of her hopes and dreams away to get married at the age of nineteen.
Marriage seemed like a whole generation away. They were still in school for crying out loud! Harry was sure no one in their year had any interest in settling down already.
Well, that was until the matter came up in one of the many conversations when playing cards.
"What d'you reckon is a good age to marry?" Ron casually asked, his eyes fixed on the cards in his hands.
Harry, Theo, Seamus, and Dean looked up to share eye contact, all raising their eyebrows in surprise.
"Where's that coming from, Ginger?" Theo asked with his nickname for Ron.
They watched Ron take a deep breath before looking up at them, attempting to be as casual as he could possibly be but clearly failing. "Well, you know ... just wondering ..."
Dean made pointedly eye contact with Harry, both rather confused but suspecting Ron's intentions.
The image of a beautiful wedding day with Harry standing on Ron's right side as Hermione walked down the aisle in a long, white dress popped into Harry's mind so suddenly that he was sure Ron had somehow transferred his thoughts to Harry.
"Well - er - I'm not sure, when did your parents get married?" Seamus decided to speak up, though unsure of what to tell Ron.
"Like a year after they graduated, so - er - they were our age," Ron's face turned a little pink.
"Mine as well," Harry nodded as he leaned over to look at Ron's cards and took one to put on the stack of cards on the coffee table in front of them. "They got me when they were like nineteen or twenty, I think,"
"Yeah - yeah, Bill was born two years after they graduated from Hogwarts," Ron nodded with a gulp.
A tense silence fell as the four other boys looked at Ron with slightly widened eyes.
