"Since all the material that is needed to pass your Defence Against the Dark Arts NEWTs is already explained and summarised in previous lessons but we somehow still need to take these classes -"

The sarcasm and annoyance were clearly noticeable in Alex' voice as he spoke to the class who were ordered not to take a seat but to stand scattered throughout the emptied classroom.

"- I have decided to teach you all the Patronus Charm,"

A whisper went through the class - mostly from the students who had already been taught this particular spell once. Haven looked up at Harry to find him with a cocky grin on his face. She nudged his side which only made him chuckle.

"I understood that one among you in particular already mastered this difficult charm at the age of thirteen?" Alex said with a smile tugging on his lips.

Everyone's eyes fell on Harry which he thoroughly enjoyed for once. This was something he was good at and something he did himself.

"You'd assist me, wouldn't you, Harry?" Alex asked him "Just to walk around the classroom and help whoever is struggling?"

"Er - yeah, sure, of course," Harry nodded as he pinched Haven back, unable to let the smirk leave his face.

Haven wouldn't dare to admit it at that moment, but she admired his confident demeanour as he walked towards Alex to go over the instructions to make sure they were on the same line.

The students took their places throughout the classroom and began with their attempts. A lot of them still knew the correct steps to produce their Patronus but people who weren't in the DA or went through some traumatizing experiences in the war had quite a difficult time.

Of course, with Ron and Hermione being the closest to Harry during all that time, they were the first to effortlessly summon their Patronuses. An otter and a Jack Russell terrier chased each other and spiralled close, nearly intertwining as a blue-grey vapour followed them.

Haven could only look in awe, wondering what her Patronus would look like if the DA meeting hadn't been interrupted by Professor Umbridge and her Inquisitorial Squad back in their fifth year. Haven could've surely thought of some happy memories back then, but actively trying to come up with a joyful memory made her mind only show her the bad ones.

Beside her, Haven found Theo eagerly chanting the spell as he flicked his wand at the empty space in front of him. Haven was nearly as excited to see his Patronus as she was for seeing hers.

Her eyes followed Harry as he approached Theo with a chuckle and adjusted his stance and the grip he had on his wand.

"Try again," Harry said as he took a step back and crossed his arms to watch Theo.

"Expecto Patronum," Theo said firmly, once more flicking his wand.

A bright light emerged from the tip of his wand, growing more vibrant and larger. Harry, Haven and Theo watched with big eyes as a small figure rose from the vapour and stretched its little paws.

"Is that -?" Harry started as he shared a look with Haven before watching Theo's expression.

His face had gone from open and bright to a rather puzzled and unimpressed look.

"A cat, seriously?" Theo sighed.

"Not just any cat," Haven chuckled, "a tiny little kitten, that is,"

Theo let out a groan as he threw his head back which only made Haven laugh harder.

"Oh, come on, it's cute," Harry said as he watched the small cat hop in the air, its mouth opening in a silent mewl, thereby revealing its tiny teeth.
