You stared at him happily, "my Storm knight it's a job where you protect me and devote your life to me."

"Oh. That sounds like a big job, why would you want me to do it?"

You fiddled with your hands, "I know it's a stupid thing to ask when you owe me nothing. But you are very close to me and I thought maybe giving you that role you could attend the parties with me."

He sighed. "Look I'm not good with people who are royalty or any noble ass humans. This job sounds like it should go to someone honourable."

A nervous expression crept onto your features. "I've had 2 other knights before you who were utterly hopeless. Their position was only due to a contract, you though....I'm offering it to you because I trust you."

He looked away unsure. "So you think I'd be suitable for it because I'm trustworthy?"

"Um yes." A moment of silence passed and your gut clenched as he answered with a hard, "no."

Your arms dropped to your sides, "o-oh but why?"

Inuyasha didn't want to seem like a bad guy. "(Y/n) it's great you want me to have such a respectful place in your life. But parties and mingling with humans? That isn't for me, most look down on me because I'm a half demon. I don't have a place in their world or even a demons."

A pained expression covered your features. "They look at me like I'm a monster Inuyasha. I know what you are talking about."

He became angry. "Well if you know what it's like then why would you want to subject me to it? You shouldn't be going if they treat you horribly."

A sigh escaped your lips, "I have no choice. I have to attend these balls so I can keep my head."

His eyes stared at you with sadness, "you do have a choice though. Forget their approval."

"You wouldn't understand." He had no idea about your world, maybe you had no idea about his.

"I guess I wouldn't because I'm just some small fry." His tone was salty. You began to feel your temper rise, "I didn't say anything of the sort!"

He growled. "You didn't need to I can already tell that's what you meant."

Fire swelled just underneath your skin as your right hand had an orange hue to it. But you breathed, this happened a lot with dissatisfied customers. You'd just need to let it all out on the high rock near your bedroom.

"All you had to say is you didn't want to the job." Trying to defuse this agrument you headed for the mansion. But decided to surround yourself with the local animals instead.

A single tear slipped out as you wiped it away. He saw the small reflection of light come off the tear for just a second.

"Is she...crying? Aw shit Inuyasha there you go again!" He whispered to himself, he would have followed you but he'd prefer not to risk his safety since he saw the orange hue fade from your skin as you walked away.

So for the rest of that morning and throughout most of the day you two did not interact with each other. His mind was filled with all the ways he could make it up to you.

He acted like such a child back there, guess the bratty side of him nature still came out from time to time.

He asked the servants where you'd gone off to. They all shook their heads answering with the same sentence, "we can't tell you."

He dragged his hands along his face from the frustration building up. So the servants had obviously been told to keep quiet.

Well he wasn't a dog demon for nothing. It took him almost the whole afternoon to find you at the end of the hedge maze where the animals resided.

Inuyasha hesitated at first as he saw you smiling, letting a bird use your finger as a perch. He'd ripped some random flowers from the garden (which the staff wasn't too happy about.)

He approached you with a light blush, clearing his throat to gain your attention. You turned and didn't have an unpleasant expression on your face which he was relived about. More surprised than anything as he stood there with flowers in his hand.

"Inuyasha?"

He strached his cheek, "um...I'm sorry about earlier I just...I was being stupid  also these flowers are for you."

You grabbed his arm and pulled him into a hug. Causing him to drop the flowers, he was quite taken aback by this. "No I get it. You don't want to go to a place where people judge you because you're not their veiw of what's normal."

He smiled as you broke the hug, "I think I can put up with that if I'm with you."

Your eyes literally lit up as you said, "so your saying-"

"Yep. I'll be your Storm knight, I have more reason to beat those bastards who disrespect you." You screamed happily.

"Whoa (Y/n) calm down or you'll burn your eyeballs!"

You rubbed your neck embarrassed. "Oh sorry- uhm...no my whole body is resistant to my fire so it's fine."

He laughed. "Ok."

Every bit of him you loved, you couldn't help but launch yourself into his chest. He caught you in his arms, seeming to expect it.

You were on top of him, hugging each other awkwardly but neither of you caring. "Maria is going to be so mad at you for picking her flowers.

He rolled his eyes playfully, "she'll get over it." He gave you a peck on the nose. Freezing a second after realising what he just did. Your cheeks were a deep pink, his becoming the same.
