Death to the flowers
It's joy to the lovers, Fun to the crowds
One in hundreds, is it more than a day?!
Hand in another, they smile for the picture
Look into those eyes, say you see a future
Hear beyond the lies, listen for the facts
Air out your whys, feelings can distract
Sure you wanna try?! your heart will get torn
I have looked at the flowers, roses have thorns
I hate the colour red, I've seen it every hour
Paint is bound to fade, do not trust a flower
I had a chat with the sun, I had to face deep east
But the day isn't special!, she boldly did insist
I nodded to the point, her smile I couldn't resist
To me it means nothing. Don't laugh I'm not bluffing
We will see who is laughing. Ahead lies the power
If the day means something, it's death to the flowers
Hey, thanks for reading. I wrote this poem after a friend asked me if i would write a poem for valentines day. I affirmed but then i realised there were two perspectives to this topic so....i wrote two poems against and for. This is the first one. AGAINST
