Just when did I slumber?
I simply cannot remember
I'm sure, I have seen a thing or two,
Or three, that don't make sense
Is it that I am just insane?
Or have you seen them too?
The rich fool, the wise poor
This confusion of bad & good,
Mistaking the sinful for the pure
We're on this long, winding road,
The sun is bright, skies are clear,
The perfect day for us to leave
Just as good as any to live,
Or to wipe a tear on a shirt sleeve,
Never too soon to learn to grieve.
You're never used to the silence
It forms & it doesn't break. Now, are you ready to be awake?
There'll be time enough for that,
To set that treasure in the dirt,
For the polished wood to lose its shine,
For you to wonder if you're fine.
Can you tell family & kin apart?
You can count as a lesson learnt.
Though it seems somewhat blurred,
Each dream begins & then it ends,
And it is not always understood,
Or appreciated as it should
Be, on the look out for the signs,
Read between the stars & the lines,
And the facade of human fate.
Is it just my suspicious trait?
Or does it to you also seem,
That life is only a dream?!-Constino
