Where do they go, those smiles and the tears
What of the memories, do they just disappear?
The giver and the taker are one and the same

All I have now is the story to the end
The same one I hoped wouldn't end
Still am glad I could count you a friend
The birds still sing, but who will tell the little ones
That whom they love will not be back home
For them who cared, will do so no more
Where do they go, when what they need is comfort?
When their faith is not firm anymore
The harshness of time, cruelty of loss
I had never known that stillness and quiet could hurt
You're there as they speak but don't say a word

I won't shade another tear, I promise to be fine
Tell me you don't hurt, just show me a sign
Where do they go, the feelings-emotions?
Do they float away with the clouds in the sky?
To whom can I go to get answers to the questions!
Just tell me the pain went away
Tell me it's paradise as they say

Whisper that you finally made it home
