112. The face of humanity

7 2 1

In the beginning,
There were a trillion questions but no one to ask them.
It was way further back than you can possibly fathom.
There was no darkness, no light, no day & no night.
Peace reigned in the universe, there was silence, no fight.
But when they turned on the lights & time,
Couldn't imagine the chaos that had began!
The violence & the malice & then came the gun.
It tripled, quadrupled, could you save your people lord?
If you willed, could you calm down the anger?
I look out of my window, don't see my world anymore.
It's a strange place & monsters roam the streets.
It's no dream but reality.
There's no need for sanity, only clarity.
You're staring right at it, the face of humanity.
And it's staring back, in the dark.
It's not the means, just the will that we lack.
We may yet push through the night, with some luck.
You can only wonder,
When the last man is under,
What shall be standing,
In the end.

Thanks for your time,
